  1. And tugs.
  2. One day and off the first page already. Love all the extra participation the thread's getting in the main forum. lol http://www.baseballamerica.com/international/july-2-notebook-garcia-yankees-tigers-white-sox-emery-pena/

  4. Man, if Zak Wasilewski can only limit the walks he'd be golden. Really good stuff for a lefty. 5ip 4h 1er 3bb 5so
  5. That remains to be seen. If all of a sudden we got a wave of participation in this thread unlike we've seen before I'd be very surprised. I expect rather that it will be the same exact posters posting in this thread that always do. If neither King, GD, Jonn, Angelo, or I posted in this thread for two days it would disappear off the first page rather quickly. In any case, I have no say in the matter, so I'll just roll with the punches as I always do.
  6. No offense but seriously? One second to click of your mouse to enter the sub forum is a pain?
  7. I don't know why we got rid of the sub-forum. There's nowhere to archive all this amateur prospect info now, and all the stuff we posted prior to today is gone. It was a nice way to keep everything organized, unlike the old board where threads just floated around. http://www.baseballamerica.com/international/adrian-rondon-next-hanley-ramirez/
  8. Get back to work George! lol http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?content_id=33732823&sid=milb
  9. AL East draft recap by BA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtLx_CozK6s
  10. Any team can sign them, but they are still subject to the bonus pool system until the following draft.
  11. Hopefully good news on the Hoffman front. The pick before him signs for 2.3M or 890K below slot. Hoffman at anywhere from 2.5-2.7M would be a big win IMO.
  12. Not sure if it's been posted. BA's draft impressions. http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/2014-draft-first-impressions/
  13. I stand corrected. From BA:
  14. More on Rodriguez from Baseball America: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Z60xDe_ni8 I really hope we can get this guy! So far we've only been connected to pitcher Juan Meza at around 1M. So we definitely have some bonus pool money still available.
  15. Given the Blue Jays recent focus on shoring up our catching depth in the minors (Pentecost, Morgan, etc.) I'd love for them to sign the top "true" catcher available for July 2 in Ricardo Rodriguez. It makes all the sense in the world. Rodriguez is a Ciro Barrios trainee, and we've done tons of business with him in the past. Out of all the catchers on the market July 2, he's also the most likely to remain at the position, but he also has a very nice offensive profile. He has a really nice, short, quick swing that's geared for contact, and despite his size, he has surprising power. He's a similar type of hitter to another Ciro Barrios client we signed, Franklin Barreto, though not quite at that level obviously. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Z60xDe_ni8 That would give us a decent depth chart of: Jimenez Pentecost Nessy Morgan Rodriguez

  17. Sorry, nothing on Murphy but I'll post PG's notes on all of our draft picks along with their PG 500 ranking.
  18. I'll check. I haven't checked the PG website since Wednesday. They usually don't do a ton of post-Draft stuff.
  19. I don't mean to toot my own horn but I went back to my old forum stomping grounds and looked at some of my old posts. I'm particularly proud of these ones from May 2011. Discussing a replacement for Aaron Hill I targeted a not too well known prospect from the Astros. I actually was talking about Altuve going back to June 2010, but the forum's archive won't go back that far apparently. Anyway Altuve made his major league debut a month after I posted this and the rest is history. I remember people flaming me for wanting to trade Drabek for some no name second baseman. Oh well.
  20. Not sure if this will work, but some video of our picks. 21. I hope Smoral makes incremental progress this year, even if it's just finding his mechanics. I'm not ready to give up on him. Guys that big usually take longer to develop. He's like Norris that if he finally gets it, his stuff is good enough to make up for lost time.
  22. I forgot Castro. I think he'll be in the top 10 by the end of the year. I also forgot Lugo. He's starting to tear it up now in Lansing as one of the youngest players. Average is up over .300 after tonight, and his defense is solid if unspectacular at short. Talk about replenishing the farm system. Replace Syndergaard with Hoffman and D'Arnaud with Pentecost.
  23. After this draft how would you guys rank our prospects? Or should we wait until short season ball has been going for a few months? Right now though I'd probably rank it: 1. Sanchez 2. Norris 3. Pompey 4. Hoffman 5. Osuna 6. Barreto 7. Pentecost 8. Reid-Foley 9. Nolin 10. Smith Jr. / Urena
