  1. Talking about the merits of eating dog meat is this board's version of Godwin's law.
  2. The sooner Pillar is DFA'd, the sooner he can get back to banging Jim's wife while Jim records it all.
  3. f***, now I have to reconsider my life choices having agreed 100% with saskjayfan on this topic.
  4. I can't believe I'm actually defending him, but it's not like he's Michael Vick here. As other people have pointed out, this is not an uncommon practice. I would never do it if I owned a dog, but on a scale of 10 of douchey things to do to animals, this is like a 3 or 4. For all the people up in arms over this, if you have boys and you got them circumcised, burn yourselves with acid immediately for your pathetic hypocrisy.
  5. Also there is nothing funnier than seeing 7 foot tall 250 pound black guys bitch slap each other like a couple of school girls.
  6. Could be a blessing in disguise. It'll force the team to give Gasol consistent starts and minutes at least for the next three games.
  7. How about this novel idea...Let's go with the 25 players that the FO and management have determined to be the most competitive roster possible on Opening Day? (Well, 24 plus the scrub destined to be jettisoned once Vlad is up) Young guys, veterans...doesn't matter. No need to pick a f***ing lane.
  8. Sexist, tranny-hating pig.
  9. Jim managed to hijack the thread with his stupidity, but I think most people can agree to these two statements: 1. Pillar has been very good value for the Jays over his MLB career. 2. Given their skill set, ages and trajectories, there is a pretty good chance that Alford will be a superior player to Pillar going forward, perhaps as early as 2019. Considering the state of the roster and what BTS said above, it is likely these two will be able to coexist in a Jays uniform this year. Any decision to jettison Pillar should be based on his performance and expected future performance alone and any possible return, independent of whatever Alford does. Jim's "prediction" of Pillar being non-tendered given the collapsing FA market for ~2 WAR OF players over the age of 30 hardly counts as much of a prediction. But I'm sure he'll milk for all it's worth once it happens that he was FINALLY right on Pillar after all these years of considerable excess value from this cheap non-prospect.
  10. Yeah a dude who has provided 10 WAR over four seasons worth of PA, drafted in the 32nd round and the team has paid him $5 million total...BIGGEST f***ING MISTAKE EVER!!! If players pan out as efficiently as Pillar has over a 40 man roster you have a 120 win team. Jim has this braindead ideology that the team should have sold high on Pillar. As if he was ever a hot item ticket who could net more than a C-level prospect aka someone whose realistic upside is what Pillar already has become today. As far as what the team does today with him RE: Alford. Holy s***, have you seen the OF depth? Or deadweight on the roster in general? The Jays have more than enough room to carry Alford and Pillar if they feel like doing so.
  11. Meh. I find defensive shifts to be an interesting novelty, though I get that the novelty is wearing off from their greater use. The shortstop position was originally in the shallow infield in the 19th century so if anything they are returning back to baseball's routes with this particular shift. Agreed about the relievers. Also, Manute Bol. The reason why it doesn't happen in the NBA anymore is that no team can afford to have an 8 foot tall 180 pound non-athlete with no offensive skill on the court just for 5 blocks a game. A dude that size with offensive skill would absolutely be used for that purpose within the 3 second violation rule.
  12. One dude puts money into my s***** stock picks, the other does not. Sorry fellow Trumper I'll have to add to this slaughter.
  13. Not if you're a serial killer of hookers. 90% of all unsolved murders in the United States can be attributed to baseball scouts.
  14. Dumb Moogy is trolling you guys good. But he has a point, longevity of outings is a thing. Neither of these guys are particularly good but Borucki has gone deeper into games so consider that fact when comparing one's mediocre ratios to another. Borucki would be a stud LOOGY.
  15. Ha, either Boston's scout or some team's scout that recommended not giving up a middling reliever for him. Also, I can just smell the salty jealous rage of people here angry that some regular fat dudes got paid for decades to sit in baseball stadiums and be wrong about prospects, with the hardest part of their job holding up a radar gun.
  16. I can't believe that there are people who are offended at the idea of the Jays' pitching non-prospects not getting full time in the majors this year. I hope the Jays sign three more pitchers at Bucholz level or better, ideally much better (Keuchel).
  17. That article reads like s***. It's three paragraphs worth of information stretched out five times. I was trying to find by how much they plan to move the mound back. No dice. This is a stupid cycle. Pitchers are required to throw harder and harder, making them more susceptible to injury. The answer to that is to make the good ones pitch less and less and the mediocre ones get thrown into specialist roles where they can blow their arms through max effort on 20 pitches. To combat...umm, the high strikeout rate I guess? (Because offense is not near historical lows) they want to move the mound back now? How about let's just let everyone go back on steroids and look the other way so we can see the good pitchers pitch 200+ IP into their 40's and the good hitters hit 50+ bombs a year.
  18. LOL @ you guys for thinking this Tulo story is going to end in any way other than 2013 John Farrell.
  19. When I saw the "No doubt about it. Extra special" part I thought this was going to be a joking/sarcastic response. LOL @ Tulowitzki for being a salty bitch.

  21. No, that had to have been in 1976. Not much time to put the team together if the draft is three weeks before Spring Training starts.
  22. The Raptors have been "clutch" lately. As in they've been winning close games that they should be winning by 10+ points.
  23. When somebody retweets nonsense in a kind of protest, management's ability to extend his contract at favourable terms isn't impacted by their dislike for the guy. It's impacted by the fact that he's a moron and likely making moronic requests behind the scenes like pushing to sign Carlos Gomez. You said it yourself - ego. It doesn't help matters that, sadly, Stroman is one of the top and most tenured players on this team. That means he feels like he should take on a leadership role. If he's traded to a team with several veterans who are clearly better than he is, that might encourage him to take a dose of STFU.
  24. The best we can hope for is that he twists this hole that he dug for himself into some kind of adversity that he has to overcome and pitches well enough to get a good return in a trade. No reason to hope he does poorly now, or ever (except when facing the Jays in the future). He's not some dirtbag wife beater, he's just some stupid guy that mouths off too much and he has worn out his welcome for many of us, management probably included.
  25. Shut up losers. Vizquel's the best shot we have of seeing someone inducted in the HOF with a Jays cap for a while.
