  1. Don't worry I'll eventually get tired of interacting with the one goof running the jaysfan2014 and RealAccountant accounts and give up on it.
  2. ...which makes this situation even more unfortunate.
  3. That was before this morning. Mr. Mohamed ravaged an all-you-can-eat Mexican buffet last night and now all every floor at Rogers head office is flooded. It'll take millions to fix the damage and Rogers execs just got off the phone with Beeston nixing any hope of a salary increase.
  4. Nadir Mohamed just clogged up the plumbing taking a big dump at Rogers head office. It's going to take millions to fix the plumbing. The Jays can no longer afford to take on salary now.
  5. So do 28 other teams. The Jays could have put out a superior offer than KC without trading Stroman. Not that I'm advocating they do that necessarily, but the Rogers propaganda machine on Stroman is running full force on this one.
  6. Is this real how the MLB is going to be now? Sign a bunch of free agents to back loaded contracts, then try to trade them 1 year or less into the contract if your team is out of it to another sucker GM. Maybe the Jays should trade Martin if they go on a losing streak in the next week.
  7. Let's hope that exec came out of Cincy or Philly The best way to improve the club imo is to trade EE for pitching help. Given that Navarro is getting so much playing time in favour of Smoak anyways, if you trade Encarnacion and put Smoak in the line up everyday, there's no downgrade to the line up based on both of those guys' performance this year.
  8. Carlos Gonzalez was a "buy low" candidate as much as Edwin is a "buy low" candidate off of the Jays' squad...ie not a buy low candidate unless the FO for the team wants to get torched by the fan base for giving up a star player during a slump for less than he's worth.
  9. Only 6 appearances in all of July.
  10. I guess they figured he was the bad luck charm... There must be something seriously wrong with that guy, personality-wise, that he is so much further down the RP hierarchy than he should be. Maybe him and Gibbons got into a fist fight.
  11. What a tard. Baseball is one of the better sports in terms of being able to use your mind as well as athletic skill. Greg Maddux turned his slightly above average stuff into a Hall of Fame career by accumulating knowledge and outsmarting his opponents. The NFL is the only one of the big 4 in North America imo where more thought gets put into every play, but that thinking is quite centralized at the QB and coach level. NBA...well it doesn't take a genius to grow to 7 feet tall and dunk a ball into a net.
  12. Or maybe an agent who will steer him in favour of the team where he can put up a 15+ win season just by checking in every 5 days, a la MB or Hutch.
  13. Wow something that's actually dumber than a shootout in hockey.
  14. If we catapulted you out of Toronto, would that make it an enjoyable enough city for MLB players?
  15. The Jays' record under AA when it comes to evaluating, acquiring, developing and extending position players is excellent. It's the pitching side that's been atrocious. I wouldn't call the organization stupid but there's is definitely something broken.
  16. Not sure why you're arguing this. Estrada being better than Doubront doesn't mean you extend him which is the topic at hand. Let's just all be happy he's been doing well and hope he continues to do well until the end of the year. Then congratulate him on his big pay day with some other team. If Estrada does well enough, can the Jays get a comp pick assuming he leaves? If so, then let him go. If not, I wouldn't be opposed to having him back again next year at a decent price.
  17. I'd rather they try to flip Edwin for some pitching and get Smoak's bat in there every day. Edwin for prospects --> prospects to Cincy or Philly is the best case scenario for addressing the need for pitching in 2015 and keeping these young guys for 2016.
  18. This team has had Rajai, Gose and Bonafacio recently. All were shipped out and none were used particularly effectively while they were here - a bench player that can be used as much as possible for pinch running late in the game and defense in the case of Gose. I'd rather focus my efforts on improving the pitching.
  19. LOL at this guy's shtick. Every post is Armageddon for rivals in the AL East. I wonder which regular will be outed as having this account as a fake one?
  20. So...what you're saying is the Jays need to score 6+ a game 100% of the time and they'll have a winning percentage similar to the Golden State Warriors at home! Time to trade Navarro and demote Goins.
  21. I assume what you mean by this comment is that he's trying to throw harder at the expense of some command. The evidence doesn't support this idea as his BB/9 is 2.7 which is trending below his first two years in the majors and just a tad higher than his MiLB walk rate that was generally in the low to mid 2's. In 2011 his last full season in the minors he struck out more than a batter an inning.
  22. I think he'll get in, but the voters will string him along 4 or 5 times since he isn't quite in the category of "super duper elite first ballot" Hall of Famer. My guess is he'll be around the 50% mark for the first couple of years.
  23. f***ing Clemens ruined HGH for all other HOF caliber pitchers with their arm in need of repair in their late 30's....Halladay sure could use a few injections right about now.
  24. The difference between two months of a pitcher two years removed from an MLB career who can throw strikes versus a pitcher who walks 5 a game and random non-prospects who are filling his shoes while he's out could be the difference between making and not making the playoffs. That's how desperate the Jays need to upgrade their staff, through any means necessary. We just need to inject some of Dave Stieb's DNA into Halladay to get him to want to pitch again.
