  1. Listening to Ian Hume post game just has me so pumped for the Octo. Great fortune to have the Gold Cup to experiment in preparation for September. Starting it off with the US away and Honduras and El Salvador at home in September. Trudeau better have the f***ing border open by then.
  2. Semien's got great wheels.....what's with the s***** camera work.
  3. so much for a quick game. Damn the soccer gets going in an hour and we're just headed to the 3rd inning.
  4. we opted for pitching and defense. No Biggio tonight. 6 for 15 with 2 walks, 2 doubles and 2 homers in 17 PA since he got back. He sits.
  5. Yeah..he rubs me the wrong way too. I had a big eyeroll when I heard his injury theories. Stick to baseball, you're not a doctor.
  6. The big networks, TSN and Sportsnet misjudged the Canadian team. I love soccer. I went into the office and the hard core sports fans in the office were talking about watching the Euro 2021 games. These are guys who know nothing about Soccer, but it's a massive tournament and it's on TSN. Canada is going to get by Haiti tomorrow and in September when we are playing the US in the final stage for world cup qualifying it would have drawn very good ratings. As it is, we will probably be able to watch the US game on the US channels. Come Spring of 2022 when Canada is on the verge of qualifying for the world cup facing Jamaica and Costa Rica in March these games will captivate many non traditional soccer fans and the big networks will be missing out because they didn't believe in the team. It's a shame.
  7. Castro's fastball has a lot of life. He's averaged 95.2, and the velocity has actually been up even higher the last couple games. His slider has a ton of break. It's been hit and miss at times. He had trouble hanging a few earlier on. I've liked his last several outings, because he's relied more on the fastball. I'm not going to get on Dolis for giving up a run to 4 extremely good hitters, especially with an error. It's not worth debating Castro or Dolis. Given where we were in the lineup, there was only one pitcher for the job and that was Romano. If we were facing the 6th hitter to start the inning, Dolis might have been the right call.
  8. Romano has pitched twice in the last 13 days....f***ing use our best reliever.
  9. no reason not to use romano against the best hitters....charlie just keeps doing it to us....f***
  10. We've been shut out once this season.....we have to score a run!
  11. That field was only a small step up from playing in the sand on the beach. Truly awful. That and the heat and humidity that felt like 40% was a great equalizer. We'll take the game on Tuesday comfortably.
  12. I can't imagine he's asking too much now. He opted for rest and rehab? Did it work? Not sure. He's pitching now. If the velocity is there, I'd give him a mil or 2 to finish out the season. Seems like a sensible gamble if you can get past the other stuff.
  13. The whole ordeal is shrouded with mystery. Didn't the incident happen outside his apartment. The defense was citing video evidence would help his case. People deserve second chances unless what they've done is so egregious that you can't go there. There's nothing to suggest this is the case. You're probably right. Toronto's to PC for this move, but this is the type of reliever we need.
  14. Roberto Osuna's available, just saying. I'm pretty sure he could be bought out of his contract. He has 0.0 ERA in 5.1 innings so far this year.
  15. I can pretty much guarantee you will be here posting tomorrow.
  16. Our offense was better today.....16 hits to 8....we got hits with RISP and didn't score runs because of this mickey mouse park. We had 5 doubles turned to singles....just bad f***ing luck. I think we might be cursed.
  17. tomorrow's game starts at 4. Team Canada faces Haiti starting at 5. There's no way my attention won't be on team Canada tomorrow once the game starts. I need a time out.
  18. Normally you would think so....with Charlie managing, not so sure. There was zero reason to pull stripling given the state of our bullpen.
