Scherzer says he isnt making any decisions until the offseason, whereas Verlnader has already confirmed hes hangin it up 

I agree though, when he leaves the mound... he should get the same type of send-off... just in case. Just hope he pitches well and doesnt go out on a low

It feels like he'll give it a go again next year - announce it will be his last and then reap all the accolades and gifts throughout the season...

Although maybe that's not his style (I think there's a good chance it's not)...he deserves it if he wants that though.

Will he catch JV in strikeouts?  Unlikely today. Maybe he wants another yr. 

He did say he wants his family to watch him pitch. Hope he pitches well regardless.

He has a deep connection with Detroit.  That doesnt exist here so it won't be anywhere close.

For all their faults, Jays fans know whats up with Scherzer. He will get the ovation he deserves. 

It may not mean the same baseball-wise or have the same emotional context, but that's not in the fans control

Oh for sure... just meant it wont have the same emotional connection here.  Springer on the other hand will get exactly what you guys want for Max.

man he looks so lost right now maybe that's why, he seems to be swinging not to get out - even on a 0-0 pitch

Absolutely. The George sendoff will mean more to TO.

Btw... if no police horse shows up with some actor dude with his tarp off, the Jays marketing team missed out on a massive opportunity
