Charlie's misuse of Tapia is impressive even for him. Let's put Tapia and his .241 OBP in the leadoff spot. His career OBP away from coors is .281. Like come on. -

He got hit with a ball that was hit 119.8 MPH off the bat. You ever tried to make a throw after getting hit by a ball hit that hard? The runner was out too.

Kirk is going to go on a heater too. Him and Bo are both going to rake the next 2 weeks.

Last night in a 2 to 2 game with Kirk on 1st in the 7th and none out Charlie didn't pinch run him. Now I could argue the way we've hit with runners on and the bottom of the lineup coming up it was unlikely for that run to come in even with a fast runner on 1st. You take away from Kirk in the 9th. You don't have Zimmer to pinch run in the 9th or in extra innings. I honestly didn't take too much issue with Charlies decision to not pinch run for him. I could argue both sides. Tapia batting 5th. This is indefensible to me. This annoys me far more than the pinch running situation last night.

I knew his framing stats were quite good this year, but I checked his statcast page today and he's 94th percentile! Our defensive specialist..lol. I'll be happy when Kirk starts hitting again...he's close. It's going to come soon.

15 games into the season Bo was terrible. He was swinging at everything and not getting any good hitters counts. The last 9 or 10 games he's been a lot better. He's had bad luck, but he's getting some good counts and hitting the ball hard. There's no reason to move him off 2nd now. I'm not sure why we are talking about Bo when Tapia exists for this team. Charlie's usage for Tapia and where puts him in the lineup has been terrible. He's hit 4th and now 5th again for this team tonight. Ridiculous! -
Can someone post a game day thread so I can complain about Tapia hitting 5th in a proper spot!

I was driving back from my kids soccer game. Radio announcer. I wonder if they'll pinch run for Kirk. Seems like a good spot. Nope they're going to leave him in. Heineman double and Kirk is held at third. That's sort of why I thought they might pinch run for Kirk. Seems like Zimmer would have scored pretty easy there and it is the 7th inning. f*** Charlie!

I think I would have been more intrigued by Taylor, but I'm fine with taking a look at Capra. I thought Taylor was older than he is. He's 2 years younger than Capra so I get the move. Taylor does have 12 stolen bases and it's May 1. That's pretty intriguing when you factor in a .407 OBP so far this year. -

Groshans 2 for 3 with a double in his first game of the season. Old man Fowler with a knock in his 2nd game of the season after going 3 for 4 in his first game. Samad Taylor with a triple. He's absolutely killing it. K rate cut down, almost a 20% BB%. Nice start for the kid. We might have lost him if there was a rule 5 draft.

He wasn't as bad as his stat line. Houston is a good hitting team and didn't miss too many mistakes. I would have left him in myself. Now we have Thornton in for the 4th. This is going to be a tough one for the bullpen.
