  1. I mean Vlad and Springer are both performing. They are in the range of what you would expect and certainly doing their jobs. I just meant we have 1 hitter who is surprising to the upside meaningfully performing better than projections. We have 4 or 5 that are a fair amount below their projections. It's early. Things will even out. I think Espi is legit though. His contact rates have always been good. He just has more power this year.
  2. You're not wrong. We were 16 and 15 after 31 games. 17 and 14 this year. The season will be defined by the next couple months. Last year we dipped below .500. We also had injuries last year. Our injuries came early this year. Teo is back, but obviously he has to get his timing down. Jansen played his first rehab game. Ryu will be back. Can he get his command back and give us some quality outings. I hope so. Even Biggio played his first rehab game. 2 for 2. Can he get some confidence going and hit .230 or .240. He's a walk machine and has some power. If he can just hit .230 to .240 he's an above league average bat from the left side. There's still lots to be positive about, but it's tough to see after a loss like last night..lol. We have one player outperforming expectations this year and that's Espi. We just need some guys to get hot.
  3. The baseball gods gave us a game when Zimmer hit a pop fly homer in Houston. They took one away when Stanton hit a pop fly homer in NY.
  4. The bigger mistakes were the walks. You don't execute a pitch and hit gets knocked out you're up by one. Closer will blow saves. It happens. He's still closed 35 of his last 38 opportunities. Are you suggesting we put someone else in the closer role?
  5. He's hit .306/.359/500 in May which is only 9 games, but it seems like an odd time to move him down when he's actually starting to hit well.
  6. So Biggio got lifted from the bisons game after going 2 for 2 in the first inning. Must have gotten hurt?
  7. Buffalo with their hitting shoes on. 7 singles a double 2 walks. The 14th batter of the 1st inning is coming up.
  8. Biggio with another single. They're still in the first! He got more hits in one inning in Buffalo than he did with the Jays..lol. 28 PA is nothing. People were over reacting about the demise of Cavan Biggio.
  9. and Biggio leads off his Bison's debut with a double.
  10. Well I was one of his biggest fans when he was struggling! I'm not saying I was jumping up and down when he was traded saying it was a bad trade, because I wasn't. I knew he wasn't as bad as his numbers were when we traded him, but I wasn't sure he would bounce back to be anything more than a tick above league average with the bat either. I always thought he had a high ceiling with the bat, just wasn't sure he would get there. He could easily fall back from his hot start too, but he's got it going right now.
  11. How good would my boy Rowdy Tellez and his 1.9 mil contract look in this lineup right now!
  12. Could have won this one if Espi had lead off instead of Tapia.
  13. He's 3 for 4 tonight, clearly tried to elevate and just about hit an off field double..lol
  14. He can learn it in the minors once Teo is back.
  15. We have a good enough team that we're going to win in spite of Charlie, but you're not wrong about Charlie. Charlie is not a good manager. You're wrong about the players and the GM. Our GM just has Charlie Kryptonite.
  16. and Espinal scores! Oh wait, no Charlie batted Tapia leadoff, not espi.
  17. Why do I get the feeling I'm going to see Tapia 3 to 4 times a week even when Teoscar gets back.
  18. Tapia's only slightly better. A .235 OBP would be a DFA candidate on most teams. He's our leadoff hitter...lol.
  19. come on Kirky...drive him in!
  20. imagine if espinal had been leading off like he should have been. A double in front of Bo and Vlad.
