  1. I'm assuming you referring to the majority of the games, because there is every reason that Smoak should sit and Navarro should DH against some lefties.
  2. when that day comes, just remember you actually haven't woke up. You just dreamed you woke up and read that the Jays signed Moncada and you are actually still sleeping
  3. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you're not married...lol
  4. I'm going go out on a limb here....play music?
  5. big ears indeed. I didn't realize bats and Martin were college teammates. That's pretty cool.
  6. we can hug it out and you can fly to sask and buy me and bbbb a few pints. I don't hold grudges..lol
  7. Here Here...I'm on board with this plan...but I'm pretty sure that's the Yankee plan.
  8. I'm sure he doesn't. I'm also sure he doesn't care that you care that he does not care that I care he signs in the NL. Get a grip lucy.
  9. baez is crap...as long as shields sings in the NL I don't care where he signs.
  10. without looking it up, I think the taxes in California are higher. I remember reading an article about phil mickelson complaining about the taxes and I was shocked at the amount of tax there was in Cali. With the falling loonie housing prices are actually on par with those in San Diego. Can't beat the weather though.
  11. there's always a chance in baseball as long as you have a decent amount of talent, even if others in your division have better talent. Bumgarner could be under the knife in April, so could Kershaw. Injuries happen at any time. Last year 88 wins for both Pittsburg and the Giants won the wild card and the next closest was Milwuakee with 82. Pittsburgh could take a step back. The Padres absolutely would be in the mix in the wild card with shields imo. They won 77 games last year.
  12. Cashner, Ross, Kennedy, shields, Despaigne, Morrow, Johnson........could be pretty good. They are at least in the conversation. An key injury or two with the competition and they have a fighting chance. I don't think they're lineup is great, but it's better than it was.
  13. are you saying that because they have no shot at the playoffs even with Shields?
  14. Bautista and Edwin combined for 69 last year and EE only played 128 and the first 10 or 15 after coming back from injury were a long ways from normal production. You're calling for a lot of regression for EE and bats if you think the trio will hit 83 with them actually being healthy and Donaldson leading the way.
  15. When I got to the boards and saw that Jonn was the last to post in this thread, I played a little game in my head to predict how many HRs Jonn would predict the trio would hit. It's much more gratifying as you don't have to wait an entire season for the results. I predicted 79. Much to my surprise, you were more optimistic than I thought you would be.
  16. expecting injuries are you
  17. 112....I hope Martin can duplicate his .402 OBP from last year!
  18. And what teams outside of Boston in our division has depth in the outfield. Most teams 4th and 5th outfielders are s***. Dirks has the chance to actually half decent. Pillar can at least play quality defense. I don't think the difference in carerra, Dirks and Pillar is much different that most teams outfield options beyond their starters with the exception of Boston.
  19. he's been hot garbage tonight...which almost never happens.
  20. I live in Saskatchewan so let's just f*** off with all this snow and winter talk. You guys have no clue what a really harsh winter is lol.
  21. Yes when looking at this trade josh Johnson was suppose to bounce back and post an era around his career average of 3.15. Morrow coming off a breakout sub 3 era was suppose to have continued success and post a low 3 era. Romero was suppose to bounce back and be a solid number 5 and post an era around 4. Dickey who posted a sub 3 era on average for the previous 3 years was suppose to post a low 3 era at an affordable price. all this to some degree seemed plausible at the time. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Yeah Alex gambled on the wrong guy. Hindsight is still 20/20
  22. D' Arnaud does not project to be elite.
  23. Estrada can start. Redmond can start. Sanchez could be stretched out. Albers and Francis can spot start. If any team loses 3 starters for an extended period of time in a season they're likely done. I think Sanchez will be the 5th starter anyways.
  24. and where's the team without holes in the AL east? Which team is the sure fire 90 win team? Which team is far and away better than the Jays in the AL east?
  25. AA has said in interviews that his slider's inconsistent and needs work and that his change up is much more polished.
