  1. pretty pathetic reason not to be a fan.....you missed a great year this year.
  2. Clearly Alex ran away scared because he's a bad gm
  3. you quite well have said 7 150, but the point is the same...tulo at 6 109 isn't that bad...premium players don't come at a discount.
  4. you said in another post Davis would get 5 150.....and there's no team out that would pay Tulo 6 109. Tulo is going to put a 5.5 WAR next year and say FYSMC
  5. we could always just keep winning and continue with higher revenues and a higher payroll
  6. It's going to be pretty tough carrying Bats and Edwin after 2016. I think that's why transitioning both Sanchez and Osuna to the rotation next year to start with is important. See what you got and you can always move them back to the bullpen.
  7. doubt he takes that....an extra year and an extra mil 4 for 24 might do it.
  8. no one on the club has better swing and miss stuff on the Jays. He's 28 years old. His rightly lefty splits are really very good. 16.7% swinging strikes last year and 15% this year....he's going to get a nice pay day come free agency. If he would give the Jays any kind of home town discount I would sign him in a heart beat.
  9. i see...so they have no shot at the playoffs next year?
  10. i hope the sox or yankees get him
  11. I think you guys are drastically under-estimating zimmerman's market. One poster said something like 5 for 85....look at what porcello got. Zimmerman will get close to what Lester got last year. I'm willing to pay for quality free agents...even overpay, but the jays won't sign zimmer.
  12. yeah the team will have a 32 year old Tulo costing them 20 and Martin costing 20. They will also have one of the best players in Donaldson costing less than market value. They will have stroman, Revere, Collabella, Osuna, Travis, Pompey, Hutch, Pillar, Goins under control in 2017 costing chump change. That leaves them plenty of money to fill out the team. The team has greene, alford, harris, foley, urena, maese, smoral, nay, pentecost, tellez, hollon. By 2017 a couple of these will players will likely be ready knocking at the door. Bautista and EE if unsigned will add additional draft picks. So many of you follow the game far more than myself. I admit that, but with all that baseball knowledge there's no way those baseball minds can find a way in which the 2017 Jays could compete? That's pretty sad. Those people saying it's broke after 2016 simple have not liked Alex Anthopolous for a long time. I don't think AA leaving right now is the right choice, but I reserve the right change my mind if the new regime does a bunch of wonderful things. I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong. The problem with being 20 years old is that you're never wrong about anything. When you're 40 you've been wrong so many times, it's just a lot easier to come to grips with the fact that you actually don't know everything there is to know about everything.
  13. such is the life of someone with a wife, kids and a business. I know we all wish we could spend 80 hours a week on baseball, but I do have family and clients to think of. I'm not suggesting Shapiro can't and won't have success. Like many executives who have been in baseball for some time they have both success and failures. I'm just saying if it ain't broke don't fix it. AA should still be with the Jays.
  14. So why exactly did he leave a team president role with one organization to go go another?
  15. I may not follow the game enough to know every executive, scout, player and prospect in the game, but I do watch baseball. I think the Jays have drafted and traded for some good young players in the past few years, but maybe you don't like Stroman, Syndergaard or Osuna. I know you just look at Lamar and see him as the idiot who was the predecessor to your hero who's poster you jerk off to every night.
  16. Shapiro got stripped of his personnel making decisions after 2 sub 70 win seasons in 2009 and 2010. You're going to give him credit for the 2016 season? It's been reported he's excited to be back in a position to impact the roster since he took on the Blue Jays position. Last time I checked the Indians didn't have the Red Sox and Yankees in their division.
  17. The Jays didn't just lose AA, they are going to lose a lot of staff responsible for drafting, signing and helped make the decisions on trades for players. AA was always quick to credit his team and clearly there many people impacted the team. He's a likable guy who will take some valuable people with him so be careful what you wish for BTS/Hurl.
  18. so you speaking for Hurl, or you the same person
  19. you hould post a link to the details of this
  20. Are you drunk Tulo will be 31 at the end of 2016 What are you 12? How is 31 mid thirties. Martin is a warrior....Stroman isn't a free agent until 2021...he's solid top of the rotation guy. Sanchez, Osuna, Pillar, Travis, Goins, Pompey all 2021 or later free agents. They already have premium young talent playing with the team. They still have pentecost, alford, guererro and a whole host of young prospects that will become more known in time. This team has the AL league MVP until 2018. The team has solid mlb players like Saunders, Collabello, Smoak and Revere for a couple years. The increased revenues should give you plenty of funds to sign players in 2015 and beyond. There are drafts each year to gap the talent together. This team is a long ways from being in dire straights after 2016 when all you have is 2 players under contract(especially when those players are the calibre they are) and you have a top of the rotation guy in stroman to go along with an MVP in Donaldson.
  21. If you don't think generating revenue isn't a criteria for being re-signed you're a fool.
  22. seriously f*** off...Devon Travis, Tulo, Stroman, Estrada, Osuna....get a new f***ing login you twit
  23. I think the phillies interest me the most....they have a lot of dough to spend and if they buy out lee for 12.5 mil they have Howard at 25 mil with one year left and their next highest paid player is Harrison at 11 mil. This is a club used to bumping the luxury tax and they are a long ways off that.
  24. the dodgers said they want to get younger and the yankees desperately need to get younger and have some big contracts off soon...I don't see how the jays in the market for heyward.
