so it was jose who leaked all these numbers? Give me a break. Jose has always been very forthcoming with the media. He was asked about negotiations. He said he gave them a number, and didn't believe in a home town discount. Nothing he said is out of line. He has a year left on his contract and would like to test free agency to see where his value truly lies. The only way he is going to miss out on this opportunity is for the Jays to meet his number. His number is likely high because he wants to test free agency. This is his prerogative. He didn't play out his final year last year and it cost him a lot of money. This time if he plays out his final year and has a bad year it could also cost him a lot of money, but he obviously feels confident in his abilities. Negotiations can begin in earnest in the offseason.
