  1. There isn't a manager in baseball that would have pulled stroman after 8 innings tonight, not John Gibbons, not Joe Maddon, nobody. You need to maximize your typing fingers lifespan. What happens if your fingers cramp up when Gibby makes a decision that is worthy of complaining about?
  2. tv ratings aren't so bad...you're right..no one goes to the ballpark though
  3. What cut of revenue does Rogers get from 106K tickets sold? How much increased viewership and merchandising sales does Rogers get from exposure to the quebec market? The decision probably has more to do with dollars and cents than it does with inconveniencing the players on the team.
  4. I thought Edwin was scheduled to dh in a minor league game today
  5. maybe the fact that flloyd was a quality starter prior to his elbow blowing up twice had something to do with it.
  6. Cola may be a fringe player, but he's a silver slugger when it comes to personality. Everyone seems to like him. His ability to speak almost flawless spanish certainly doesn't hurt either.
  7. that's the thing...i don't understand how you cheer against a blue jay player because of what some internet poster says. I didn't think Pillar would amount to anything, but I always cheered for him. When Thole's up to bat, I don't hope he strikes out.
  8. should have definitely had a double in his first at bat...babip not his friend this spring
  9. nice at bat by goins..bad luck
  10. Sanchez went 6 and a third last outing...not 3 to 5. His velocity was down even as a reliever vs the previous year. His velocity in spring training last year was less than it is this year. The velocity this spring training has ticket up. As a starter, his velocity this year would be a couple mph more than last year. That's just a fact. At times he struggled to hit 94, 95 as a starter last year. As far as him limiting walks and hitting his spots more often because it's crap competition he's facing, sure there is some subjectivity to that argument. You don't want to believe Sanchez can improve his command of his fastball or his secondary pitches, that's your prerogative. You claim witchcraft to the industry professionals and coaches who are claiming these advancements in his pitching abilities. I get it, your baseball acumen sitting on your couch is unquestionable. let's trade sanchez for the philly fanatic and end these endless discussions.
  11. velocity is an unbiased indicator. His velocity is up this spring as compared to his velocity as a starter last year.
  12. Sanchez for 5th or 6th inning specialist #maximizevalue
  13. stats that matter vs stats that don't matter. Some players make a lot of changes in development years, some do not. Sanchez belongs in the former category. Those that say Sanchez shouldn't start also prey to the gods of Fangraphs and worship all their teachings. Well, Fangraphs says start Sanchez, so maybe you just misunderstood one of their lessons. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/aaron-sanchezs-place-in-torontos-rotation/
  14. League average sample size vs Sanchez sample size
  15. you should probably drop the last 6 words of your post. They really add nothing.
  16. I'd be more upset if we started Sanchez in the pen than as a starter in the minors. We need to see if Sanchez can start. If he can develop into a solid starter that goes a long way to providing money available to sign at least one of Bautista or Encarnacion at the end of the year. We need to see where he stands as a starter, especially with the spring he is having. If you don't want him to start in the majors to start the year, put him at AAA and see if he can excel.
  17. what? The Yankees are clearing off Sabathia, Beltran and Tex at the end of this year. You think one year of Arod at 21 mil that is left in 2017 would prevent a long term deal with Edwin? Edwin can play first and dh when Arod needs days off for one year.
  18. I like Pillar's athleticism. I said he might be able to transition and become a good lead off hitter if he developed some plate discipline. I do like his bat control, but having seen him in person, the guy can't sit still. I think he's adhd. He didn't come off as being dumb by any stretch of the imagination, but I think he's stubborn and the mental side of the game and developing a better approach will take some time if it ever comes. I'd go with Saunders up top.
  19. yankees have a ton of money coming available at the end of the year...if they Jays don't lock up edwin now they easily outbid the Jays
  20. I'm not really worried about EE. He has such a compact swing. I think he will be great. I would give him 5 years 17.5 mi AAV and I think he would take it. If he gets to free agency someone will probably pay him 5 100.
  21. he put up 4 and 5.9 war seasons in his previous 2 prior to coming to the jays. His first season with the Jays was his age 30 season. It wasn't a weird hard-on. Lots of fans were excited.
  22. You're so compassionate to the player..lol. Floyd has a good arm. In the bullpen he can provide some value and depth. The 7 starts he gives you vs the one's hutch gives you would be the same. What happens if storen or Osuna or both go down.
