  1. This has been on my mind for a while. We finally agree on something. I'm not totally convinced Walker is bad, just wondering if we could do better.
  2. If you love the rebuild now, imagine how excited you're going to be when we trade Vlad in 2023. It's going to be an exciting time.
  3. I call ******** that he's going to spend 21 mil and upgrade on Stro and Sanchez. Huston got Sanchez because he had the third highest spin rate in all of baseball on his curve. His curve has far more run than it ever has before this year..they'll turn Sanchez around because that's what they do. We spent 10 mil on Jamie Garcia. Estrada had the worst year of his career and had known back issues and we gave him 13 mil. We signed Clay Buchholz and acquired Clayton Richard. The rotation, if it is completely healthy and doesn't have a single injury next year, is going to be hot garbage. Get used to the kids putting up 6 runs and losing.
  4. he's so dreamy...rookie of the year...coming up!!!!!!!!!!
  5. He would rank 4th, but we don't talk about meaningless stats because he has 61 at bats. His career average exit velocity is 90.3. The sample size still isn't huge, but better than 61 at bats. That would place him above average, but tied for 91st on the list this year, and that's not near as sexy as saying 3rd or 4th best.
  6. I'm all for going and getting cole and spending money on some pitching, the problem is finding someone actually willing to come here.
  7. Girchuk was showing power at the big league level at 23. Derek Fisher is 25 and hasn't exactly excelled at the big league level until now and has PCL stats the last 3 years. I will give you he has significantly better plate discipline than Grichuk, but pretty much everyone does.
  8. the shatkins defense brigade to the rescue. Ross, Ross, he's our man. If he can't do it, no one can!!!!!!
  9. nice to see Grichuk turning things around a bit...I hope he finishes strong.
  10. wow....when I look at choi and his body type...it doesn't seem like he should have been able to do the splits like that..lol
  11. He had such fantastic PCL stats. I just don't get it.
  12. We all know you don't like Sanchez. What's your take on Fisher.
  13. literally one game couldn't sway things. If he went 0 for 4 he'd still have an obp of .467 but nice try.
  14. at AAA...anyone...if he came to the big club Fisher, because he's hurt anyway.
  15. He said he went back to the interested parties, which could have easily meant the parties on their short list that didn't include the twins. There's zero reason for Levine to jeopardize his reputation by making a bold face lie. It's highly possible neither lied. I absolutely don't think they went back to the twins. As for there being reports people in the industry were underwhelmed, you should look into these little companies google and twitter. It's out there.
  16. I don't believe a word that comes out of Atkins mouth. How did Atkins not have anything to lose? There were tons of media reports following the deal from outsiders that said they were underwhelmed by return.
  17. what bothered me more than fisher looking like a little leaguer was hearing they didn't even call the twins back before making the Stroman trade. The twins balked at giving up one of lewis or kirilloff, but they had a lot of other intriguing prospects and maybe we would have got a third piece. You'd think you'd want that information, even if it was to try and use it as leverage to try and get more out of the Mets. The Stroman deal didn't happen in the final minutes. The deal was done early.
  18. Okay, Alford can clearly handle the Gulf Coast league...can we get him back up to AAA...maybe even the big club soon.
  19. that statement makes a lot of sense, and then you look up the stats and neither pitcher has pitched 100 innings yet. The stats probably don't tell you much at all. Literally one start could sway things. Resuming this discussion a year from now probably makes more sense.
  20. i'm guessing this has something to do with the bet I made with King and the fact that he isn't posting for a month because he's honorable and abiding by the terms of our wager.
  21. ah just blisters..lol. He actually used his fastball a lot less the last couple starts. Seems like it might be working for him. He could use an extra couple mph on the fastball velocity, though. by the way...what did Boxy do to get banned. I thought he was the chosen one.
  22. In his previous 2 starts with the jays he went 10.2 innings with 16Ks 0 walks and no homers given up.
  23. teoscar bomb upcoming
  24. Jenkins is a twot. He changes managers more frequently than some people change underwear. Big Dave got the shaft for sure. I thought Steve Clarke got sacked far too early as well. I'm not the most knowledgeable about football, but people seem to love Slaven so hopefully we'll get promoted this year so I can watch some matches again. It's pretty tough to watch the championship in Canada.
