  1. My point is using the worst contract in baseball doesn't strengthen your argument regarding EE's value
  2. Out of curiosity I wanted to see what the chances were of Edwin's contract ending up like Pujols if he were to get 5 years. Around the same age their numbers are shockingly similar Edwin age 33 season: .263/.357/.529 -- wOBA .373 -- 134 wRC+ -- 3.9 WAR Pujols age 32 season: .285/.343/.516 -- wOBA .360 -- 133wRC+ -- 3.6 WAR Pujols decline started strongly after his age 32 season. Now, not all players age so poorly as guys like Ortiz and Beltran hit well into their late 30's. However, going north of 20M is a scary thought for any team with how quickly it could go sour.
  3. I dont think using the Sandoval contract as a measurable is wise for you. He crashed and burned, that contract is an albatross, something the Jays surely want to avoid. His projections are moot at this point. As mentioned, Cespedes was 4 years younger (at time of contract) and was a + defender in the outfield, and still only signed for 3 years.
  4. Like many, I remember riding in the car with my dad as a kid listening to Jerry call games, so there's a ton of nostalgia every time you listen to him. Irreplaceable. Hope he battles through it
  5. the sad thing is, there are still so many casual idiots that will still say Rogers is too cheap
  6. I'd actually gamble on Gomez for 2 years if it's around 8M AAV or less. I'd do 1/10 as well
  7. That would be a putrid outfield offensively. Pillar is well below average. Upton is a solid platoon, zeke is a 4th OF at best. As for Pompey, he hasnt really shown he belongs at the MLB level. He's putting up very average offensive numbers in AAA, and his once touted defence looks to have taken a dive. Until he can be consistently solid at AAA there's no reason to have him up with the big club
  8. Kind of hard without knowing how much each would sign for. Example in a general sense I'd take Reddick over Saunders. However, I'd take Saunders at 2/18 before Reddick at 4/64. If were going with a projected salary though I'll take a stab Fowler/Reddick/Bautista/Saunders/Desmond/Pompey
  9. You forgot to sign back into your other account before posting that
  10. misread it, my mistake. Not used to reading the grammar of a 4 year old
  11. Joey already declined his QO

  13. Just curious where that # came from and what that would put us at? 160?
  14. so if they Jays dont get Jansen you wouldn't want Cecil either?
  15. I bought a 20 game pack
  16. -2 WAR is good right?
  17. Jamie Campbell is the next Ken Rosenthal
  18. Agreed to the above posters. Aside from 1 bad year he's been very consistently good. I dont think its unreasonable to expect him to bounce back to a 5-6 win season for the next couple years
  19. Why do you keep mentioning this guy? He's a career -1.5 fWAR player at 29 years old. He's not a major league ball player
  20. he didn't help his own case though with the arrogant way he went about it to the media in ST
  21. Personally would go with Cespedes, I think he's got the potential to add the most wins of the 3 for the next few years, and would likely hit 40+ HR at the RC.
  22. Nothing like making personal digs against a human being based on the way they express their emotion on a baseball field!
  23. Why do you have some posts like this that are normal, and others with 47 exclamation marks acting like a 6 year old who just drank a Mountain Dew Kickstart?
