  1. Not really sure why anyone would expect him to 'crash and burn' when his floor seems to be about 1.0 Win, as a positive defender and at worst a solid platoon vs lefties. Even is he only produces 1.0 win/season thats decent value at 6.25M. The downside really isnt as dramatic as you're making it out to be. The risk would be much greater paying Edwin 20+M over 4-5 years AINEC
  2. Pearce posted a higher WAR in 102 games in 2014 than Moreland has his entire career
  3. Pearce is still better against righties than Smoak, and he's capable of posting a positive UZR/150 in the OF. So he's miles ahead of what JB and Saunders were. You really shouldnt have an issue with him out there
  4. Its also near impossible
  5. Thats what I get when I try and post a GIF. Need your help again Gov Great deal
  6. you're trying too hard
  7. Just made his decision
  8. I got food poisoning from the Quiznos on Queen a few years ago. Havent been back to that location since, but I love the other ones. Firehouse subs just came to Canada, they just put one in London im pumped. That place is godly
  9. Nothing to do with reno's I think most have been covered but tell the vendors not to carry food on their heads. I get thats its for people to see and also helps them maneuver but god damnit theres nothing I hate more than missing the action because the dude with the popcorn is standing in the way for an extended period of time waiting for someone to bite
  10. where did you gather this breaking news from todd?
  11. Sancheezy, cause his height measures his heart
  12. thats the luxury of being on the upswing of a successful rebuild. Young studs all over the diamond on cheap contracts
  13. G-Snarls is the dogg
  14. does that mean he hasn't received a higher offer than 4/80? In which case lol

  16. Agreed. Cespedes would be a better signing than EE would have ever been. He fills more of a need and has 6+ win potential in RF. The fact that he's younger would make it easier to stomach a 5 year deal ~25M AAV
  17. Agreed. 5/120 for Fowler is laughable
  18. If you're gonna make an argument that a player may be good defensively, you need to offer more than "well he just has never had the chance" In every chance he has had he's been putrid. He's aging and immobile there's no evidence to suggest he may have success there. Also don't let GG nominations fool you, Eric Hosmer is a garbage first basemen.
  19. probably for the better if you're suggesting Mike Napoli as a stud utility man
  20. I honestly would only do this if they ate half his salary. The guy flirts with replacement level
  21. He's had a starting role for the last 2 years and had a career year last year. I dont think he'd be signing anywhere for Darwin Barney money or to be a bench player. For that reason, pass
  22. Agreed, not sure it makes sense for Chi, but if they end up trading Sale maybe they feel they've got room for a SP. f***, if Kenny Williams has any say in it we might be able to get away with giving them Happ because winz
  23. I was going to say the same thing. Eaton has been so consistent offensively over the past 3 seasons, and vastly improved his defence last season. He'd be an ideal leadoff hitter and fill a huge need on this club. I do that trade all day long.
  24. I wasn't trying to say Edwin's contract could become as ugly as Pujols, my point was identifying they had near identical seasons around the same age when Pujols really started to decline, emphasizing the potential risk for the next 4-5 years at a high AAV I literally used Beltran as an example as the other end of the spectrum at the end of my post? Edit: you said Beltre, my bad. The difference with Beltre is that a lot of his value comes from his defence. He was a steady 130 wRC+ guy (which to his credit he maintained). Edwin is more one-dimensional and last year we saw a reasonable dip in his wRC+ and an inflated K%
