  1. If Derek Fisher was on the Marlins or something and this trade was made I'd feel a lot better about it. Be pretty happy honestly. It's just the silly fear of embarrassment and getting better-organization'd and Houston transforming Sanchez into something lol Whatever, Sanchez has been garbage for 3 years.
  2. I don't really get this one. Even if Sanchez does suxxxxxxx
  3. The Blue Jays traded Guadalupe Chavez for Scott Feldman during the 2016 season. I remember going to look up his numbers and being surprised to learn of his retirement at the end of 2016. Apparently he retired because his brother was kidnapped in Mexico. He only started pitching again this year. https://www.timesunion.com/sports/article/ValleyCats-pitcher-back-from-retirement-14015797.php https://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=sa872819&position=P
  4. Kendall Williams in the GCL today: 2IP, 0H, 0R, 3BB, 5K By the way, Simeon Woods Richardson is over a month younger than Kendall Williams. That's crazy.
  5. Not a prospect but you have to wonder why the Rockies never gave Jordan Patterson a real chance at the major league level. He's in the Blue Jays system now and having a horrible year but his pre-2019 stats are pretty good: https://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=15119&position=OF For whatever it's worth, Clay Davenport's numbers didn't hate his defence either: http://www.claydavenport.com/ht/PATTERSON19920212A.shtml Thats a +15 fielding number in RF in 2016 +10 at 1B and -2 in RF in 2017 +6 at 1B and -4 in RF in 2018 +6 at 1B and +9 in RF in 2019 Even if they didn't have outfield room they could have tried him at 1B. The Rockies had an 87 wRC+ from their first basemen in 2017 and a 69 wRC+ in 2018. That Ian Desmond contract. Yikes
  6. I think it definitely considers them independently. A 100 wRC+ in the IL is about a .340 wOBA and in the PCL it's around .353. I would be surprised if they did have the same wRC+ scale and park factors made up all that difference. IDK if they use the same linear weights in wOBA for both. Edit: btw there are links in the two wOBA numbers I quoted but they are hard to see.
  7. Julian Merryweather's name leaked last year but don't most PTBNL lists stay out of the public's knowledge? I understand not wanting your players to know they were on a PTBNL list but the whole practice is stupid. Just pick the players to trade and have them move organizations that day.
  8. MLB really needs to get rid of the PTBNL nonsense. Imagine trades being secret to the public.
  9. People on reddit are very, very stupid:
  10. My initial reaction is it's super underwhelming if it's just those two.
  11. I know but you gotta be optimistic
  12. I'm thinking it's Thor, Diaz and Kelenic for Stroman! Gotta be optimistic.
  13. Wtf Edwin Diaz would be an odd return.
  14. Might be time to call it a night, my friend.
  15. No haha. I had just tuned into the radio feed before writing that post. Manoah faces 4 batters: K, double, groundout, K The only velocity reading I heard the radio announcers say was 91mph on the pitch to end the inning with a strikeout.
  16. Alek Manoah about to make his first pro pitch as I type this. Edit: Strikes out the first batter on 3 pitches.
  17. Reddit's upvote/downvote system is so bad. Both on the Blue Jays and on the Baseball subreddits all the comments are celebrating how much money the Blue Jays are saving because they upvote what they want to hear. The one person questioning whether the Blue Jays are off the hook has their comment basically hidden from everyone.
  18. It will be recorded on Youtube. Here's the game from last week: I'm sure you'll also be able to join the stream of the game late and watch from the beginning if you want.
  19. It will be interesting to see what Borucki's stuff looks like tonight. He looked great in spring training. Sitting around 94 if I remember correctly.
  20. Pompey either gets called up tomorrow or DFA'd. His rehab time is up.
  21. Jordan Zimmermann looks about 50 years old, not 33.

    NHL Thread

Why are people on twitter mad that William Nylander is using Eric Lindros' number? He played one season there lol
  24. Yep, you got the last one.
  25. 3/4 Albert Belle is incorrect.
