  1. Not our white people at least And besides, bagged milk is only in part of canada, yet I've still never seen a missing person ad on one of our milk cartons
  2. Gaming service time with pitchers is stupid. Use him while he has the bullets left in his arm. Who cares if we get an extra year if he spends that year on the DL with tommy john
  3. Pretty sure they agreed in march that anyone who plays this year gets a full year of service time. Unless they totally cancel the season, then I think everyone just gets what they got last year
  4. The 38 win bucks squeaking into the playoffs just to get smashed by lebrons heat in 2013 was hilariously pointless, but it was also infuriating when the cardinals won the world series with 83 wins in 2006 and we didnt even make the playoffs with 87 wins. Both systems are an example of a playoff system skewed too far in the wrong direction. Balance in all things. Of course mlb has expanded the playoffs since 2006 and it feels like it's actually in a decent spot now
  5. More 2nd generation magic from the Jays
  6. Call him up right now and he gets to Skip being a prospect, seems like the safest choice
  7. I would personally care very much about a 48 game season
  8. Cant argue with that. Get the kid a good pitching coach and he might hit 110
  9. I'm all in on Meyer. Two 80 grade pitches is unheard of as far as I can remember
  10. Gonzales sounds like a terrible pick, Russ Adams 2.0
  11. For some reason mlb wants to share the losses with the players this year when they have never shared profits in the past. That's not right and that's not fair. If league profits went up dramatically players would have still been paid by their old contracts. So the players should get paid the same amount just like always. But the players need to acknowledge that some teams are going to have massive liquidity problems that will make paying their high salaries significantly more difficult than normal. So my pitch would be a hybrid model with some salary deferral and some revenue sharing. Basically that players get paid this year based on a revenue sharing model like mlb suggested with 50% of money the league makes going to player salaries, and players receiving the rest of their salaries over the next 2 or 3 years at an interest rate matching inflation
  12. There has to be some consideration given to the length of time it will take to develop a guy. For instance, if they think Veen gives us ~5 WAR per year from 2024-2030, is that really more valuable to the org than Hancock giving us ~3.5 WAR per year from 2021-2027?
  13. I dont understand the logic of drafting a kid who will probably be good in 6 years when we have 3 pitchers who could step into the rotation within 14 months available? Why pick a lottery ticket when there are actually big league ready starters available? If the college hitters fell to us I'd be all over them but a high school hitter who doesnt even have elite defense doesnt scream top 5 pick to me... Veen would make way more sense if we were picking at our usual 15th spot.
  14. I'd prefer Hancock, then Meyer, then Lacy I think. I definitely want one of those 3 - I don't think any of the good college hitters will make it down to us and I want none of this high schooler Veen s***.
  15. Max Meyer looking like a good pick
  16. The owners provide value too. If the players hypothetically split off from the owners to make their own league that they controlled entirely what do you think would happen?
  17. Has already hit 100 and has a "slight" build, meaning he could possibly put on more velocity as he gets stronger. Combined with a 70 grade slider! Sign me up for one Max Meyer Here's what Kieth Law said about him in his mock:
  18. I don't want a f***ing number 4 starter. If I'm drafting a pitcher its cuz I think he might be a future ace. Otherwise go with a position player and trade for established pitching when needed
  19. I know there is no such thing as a pitching prospect but I really want Hancock or Lacy. Theres nothing more exciting to me than a great pitcher and we actually have a chance to get someone who could one day be an ace.
  20. They all got like 125k on the first day of the season. But otherwise no they are not making any money now. But then if the season resumes they will earn their normal pro-rated salaries
  21. What's stopping a team from paying higher salaries on a case by case basis? Like for the one or two undrafted guys who you think are worth it, offer just them 5 times the normal salary at each level?
  22. I care about baseball still!
  23. That's a stupid grammar rule anyways. Let's say we are talking about the driver of the truck instead of the truck itself. Let's say the driver is named Jeff. We could say "On Jeff's way to Dunedin". Jeff is a proper noun, the way belongs to Jeff, so we use an apostrophe to indicate ownership But if we go back to talking about the truck, we use a pronoun because the truck doesn't have a proper name. All of a sudden we have to say "On its way to Dunedin" even though the way still belongs to "it" ("it" being the truck") but we can't use an apostrophe here to indicate ownership for no apparent reason. It's total inconsistency and it's ********. example 2) I have a cat named Frank. It has a toy. How on earth does it make sense to write "Frank's toy" but when I use a pronoun all of a sudden I write "its toy". Garbage rule is garbage
