  1. I am expecting a similar situation with Travis as what happened with Pompey this year. He is hurt forever then finally finishes a rehab assignment before being DFA'd and hopefully passing through waivers
  2. Obviously this is not true at all come on man
  3. Need someone else to command the tank now that EJ is gone
  4. Lindor was the first one I thought of and he's a great match. 2014 he has a 109 wrc+ at age 20 in AA and 2015 he has a 118 wrc+ at age 21 in AAA
  5. Pardinho is a nice piece. But we would have to fill it out with better guys than Murphy and Zeuch. I'd be happy with Groshans and Pardinho
  6. I disagree, give me quality over quantity here. We can hoard depth in other ways. Gotta get an elite talent out of this.
  7. Pearson pitched 33 innings in 2016 in college, 20 innings in 2017, 22 innings in 2018 (including AFL) and he's already up to 47.2 in 2019. The only risk with this guy is injury. If they dont limit the innings now then they will have to shut him down in July so that they dont end up increasing his innings by more than 200%
  8. Jordan Romano is the new Josh Hader
  9. Isn't it universally agreed that Loria f***ed the expos? Just don't let him own the new team and it should be fine. Especially with a better stadium in a better location
  10. That cant be true, can it?
  11. this is a succinct way of putting it. So many people are mad at this regime because they aren't competing but really there was no way to make that dumpster fire of a core work. We would have had to dump 200M+ into free agent deals and probably trade all our remaining prospects (who even was there to trade after 2016? Probably just Vlad?) to legitimately compete in 2017 and 2018, and then we still might be in the same garbage situation that we are in now for 2019 but without any of the hope on the horizon
  12. Who was the last college pitcher to start in AA? Even Casey Mize started in high A after one rookie league start, and he's the most advanced pitcher I've heard of in a while
  13. Fangraphs gets a huge amount of their traffic from Jays fans apparently. Any Jays content is basically free ad revenue for them
  14. They are cold blooded and calculating, it's great
  15. cool new defensive metric: Jumps - It's defined as: "How many feet did he cover in the right direction in the first three seconds after pitch release?" 2019 Jump leaders (leaderboard) +3.0 feet above average -- Kevin Kiermaier, Rays +2.9 feet above average -- Guillermo Heredia, Rays +2.0 feet above average -- Leury Garcia, White Sox +1.9 feet above average -- Robbie Grossman, A's +1.7 feet above average -- Harrison Bader, Cardinals +1.7 feet above average -- Jackie Bradley Jr., Red Sox +1.5 feet above average -- Ender Inciarte, Braves +1.4 feet above average -- Cody Bellinger, Dodgers https://www.mlb.com/news/new-outfield-jump-burst-route-metrics-at-baseball-savant
  16. Interesting hill to die on here
  17. Gotta hope the Jays take Pearson instead of Warmoth in the draft if they don't have the comp pick. Pearson is like 95% of my future excitement for the pitching on this team
  18. Can you even name a deal for a top tier free agent by any other team in the last 5 years that has worked out better than Russell Martin worked out for us?
  19. He defended Lebron super good last year. I think people are still holding on to that. But OG took a huge step back this year IMO
  20. Martin was easily the top FA catcher available and we paid out the ass to get him. Stop trolling bro
  21. I am pretty much over Travis. He will likely get the maximum rehab time in the minors and if he isn't hitting I wouldn't be surprised to see him DFA'd once he has to come off the IL
  22. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The deal only makes sense if hes playing CF or elite RF defense. He's not your prototypical all bat power hitting outfielder so he's going to have to create value with his defense and baserunning. If he can do that AND the bat takes off that's like a 5-7 win player. That's why Shatkins rolled the dice on that extension. If it doesn't work out no big deal, we have no other commitments and after a couple years a team would probably take on most of the remaining contract since it's not too expensive.
  23. Drafting pitching is too risky because they can just get hurt and lose 2 years to TJ at any time. We've got a ton of good infield prospects in the system, and I expect Shatkins will trade for some established pitchers who are currently healthy once it's time to compete again, rather than trying to find several guys in the draft who will all be healthy and effective at one time several years down the road.
  24. 4 K for Teo today. That is sad. I think the ship has sailed on him
