  1. For anyone who missed out on the Enny Sweepstakes here is a list of players that are compariable to him that could also be had for draft picks. Drew Pomeranz André Rienzo Burch Smith Jeff Locke Jimmy Nelson Matt Magill Álex Colomé
  2. If anyone else is looking for a closer, I'd deal Ernesto Frieri for a draft pick.
  3. I would imagine a loss like this is tough on the players. Blew a 2-0 lead, go ahead goal was terriable, and then Kadri's game winning shot hitting the cross bar.
  4. Interested in a waiver pick swap?
  5. Question: At the beginning of the season will the Waiver Priority be the reverse of the order that teams finished the year prior, or will it be the order of the waiver draft?
  6. That's only because Colome was on the DL at the time. Enny will start the year in the minors but he may get a call later in the year when people start hitting the DL.
  7. There's going to be a lot of competition for the final spot in the Rays rotation. And unfortunately for Enny, Alex Colome is going to get the last spot.
  8. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/nhl-trade-rumours-oilers-sabres-talking-monster-trade-ryan-miller-tomas-vanek-nail-yakupov/ That would be really stupid of the Oilers. This is a trade the old Leafs would have done, trade a blue-chip prospect who will probably turn into a star player for two expiring contracts. Plus the Sabres want another good prospect coming their way along with Yakupov, if I was the Oilers GM I would have hung up the phone a long time ago.
  9. Good deal for Dinger. Now he just has to hope Hunter doesn't retire. Or go the way like Konerko did this year. Atleast he got a pick back in the deal too.
  10. Good trade for both sides. I don't think Pedroia is undervalued though. He does have a good bat at a position offense is hard to find, but his HR and SB have each decrease the last 3 years in a row. He's also 30 years old, and the way he plays all out, he might not age all that well.
  11. I bet that whoever gets hired, when Bautista starts the season slow(like he has the past 2 years) there will be idiots calling for the guys head because he "wrecked Bautista".
  12. More then what it was this year, but less then the Dodgers payroll.
  13. I like the deal for Dinger. Desmond is the best player in the deal. He's a really good middle infield option and should be for quite a few years. Plus he got a prospect with a high SO rate. Sammy got some lower tier players, but he did fill a hole and he got a sp that can contribute next year. He got some good wildcards that could win him the deal, but he also added to a crowded roster.
  14. Are we allowed to substitute a sheet of plywood in for a player? Because if so we should look at that option to replace JP. Just think, you can get a good 4x8 sheet of 1/2" for around $20, so we'd save money to use else where. It would probably allow less passed balls, and give us an even +/- in framing. I'm 100% sure it would walk more. The Boston Pizza girls would still get their "wood" fix when they need it. AND the team could write messages on it so the public could see, which would replace JP's twitter. We just need someone to carry it around and help with a couple of it's tasks. Is Cito still on the payroll?
  15. What!? Atleast Goins can supply us with good defense at his position to go with his below average offense. JPA supplies us with below average defense to go with his below average offense, and then he adds in a little bit more below average defense just because he's the giving type.
  16. So I guess Tanaka is going to end up with the Yankees.. They have to spend all their money on something, since they are trying to get under the luxury tax. Yankees + Luxury Tax + Darvish's Success = Record setting posting fee.
  17. Rays could be a great team instead of a good team. Sign Choo, McCann, Abreu = 40Mil LF Choo 2B Zobrist 3B Longoria RF Myers DH Abreu C McCann 1B Loney SS Escobar CF Jennings Price Moore Cobb Archer Hellickson
  18. You already missed out on that. That was held in another thread.
  19. But he could teach the team how to be clutch and hit walkoff homeruns!
  20. They add up to 90, not 75. And you only get them at those prices if you backload the contracts with more expensive years then those. You also left out Jeter. He brings that group to 100 right there. Plus they have some arbitration eligible players. Alex Rodriguez $25,000,000 CC Sabathia $23,000,000 Mark Teixeira $22,500,000 Vernon Wells $2,400,000 (Total$21,000,000) Alfonso Soriano $5,000,000 (Total$18,000,000) Derek Jeter $9.5M player option Ichiro Suzuki $6,500,000 David Robertson $6Mil Arbitration eligible Brett Gardner $5Mil Arbitration eligible Shawn Kelley $1.5Mil Arbitration eligible Jayson Nix $1.5Mil Arbitration eligible Ivan Nova $2.5Mil Arbitration eligible Michael Pineda $1Mil Arbitration eligible The Arbitration numbers are just guesses. That's 13 players for a total of 111.4 Million. And does anyone know if Wells and Soriano's full year salary total count on the Yankees Luxury Tax or just what the Yankees pay?
  21. That's only $84M for 4 players though. There's probably somekind of rule where you have to field a full team. They'll have no trouble spending $100M+ this offseason.
  22. You may as well add Gerrit Cole, Jordan Zimmermann, Stanton, Freeman to that list too.
  23. The guy we got with the Beede comp pick will reach the Majors before Beede. And either of them could end up the better player. What's a year in player development worth anyway? Not a whole lot. Deck is an embarrising bust, considering where he was picked at. Jenkins, not so much, we had the 20th pick that year. 4 out of the next 6 players picked after him are even worse then him, and might not even make the show. That wasn't a very good draft year.
  24. Jake Anderson - How many other players in that draft year were a bust? Comer - 20 yr old in A ball, with a SO per innings, little early to call him a bust ain't it... Wocj - He's not as big and scary as Jon Rauch, so no.
