Thing with AA he does this every offseason, even in the last 2 of 3 the Jays decided to go all in. He doesn't address one certain area on the team that needs improvement with pieces who wouldn't break the bank anyways. This year he did nothing to improve the bullpen, which was a glaring weakness we knew about. Also, he didn't go and acquire another vet starter to ease the transition of the young guys like Norris, Sanchez and Stroman into the rotation. The years before that, he never acquired any depth on the bench or 2B and when those holes became glaring, the Jays didn't have a solution. It seems like he constructs a team well by making big moves (signing Martin, trading for Donaldson etc) though when it comes to filling out the roster with the last 5 guys, he has failed miserably.
