  1. Good problem to have. Much better than scrambling for arms in Buffalo haha.
  2. Would have been awesome to see deGrom vs. Scherzer tonight haha! Would have been blessed with two epic pitching matching in the span of a week, damn!
  3. Braves could use a shortstop as well. Yeah Tigers won't spend big money on a player like Bo, especially if they attempt to resign Skubal to an extension. Will be interesting for sure. I think Laika above mentioned some other good comps if he got a multi-year deal from someone, or if his market is dry earlier on in the offseason, he might just have to settle for a one or two year deal. Given the Jays FO placing an emphasis on defense, maybe they have no intention of bringing back Bo on a big contract.
  4. Wonder if the Jays decide to resign Bo and if he wants to stay here. Something to worry about in the offseason. Still think Bo gets what Adames got as a FA most likely.
  5. 71 to 1 back in November/December. Then cashed out some of it unfortunately after they missed out on some of the big FA's lol.
  6. Bet the Jays big tonight run line (-1.5) haha.
  7. Jays will have a couple holes in their rotation next season with Bieber, Scherzer, Bassitt, and Lauer being FA's. That leaves a rotation of just Gausman & Berrios + arms like Francis/Manoah/Lucas/Macko to fill out the back end or for depth. Maybe Yesavage works his way into the picture during ST with a successful stint in Buffalo and/or the Majors this September. If Bieber comes back strong, would definitely try to work something out with him. Wouldn't mind bringing back Lauer as a No. 5 starter and lefty for the rotation. He likely won't cost too much. Likely something similar to what Matt Boyd signed for. Wonder what Woodruff could get as a free agent? He definitely would be a nice target. I'm guessing something similar to what Blake Snell signed for last offseason (5 years/$180M). Maybe a bit more/bit less. Who knows how the market shapes up.
  8. Stroman likely will pitch for a team in Japan.
  9. Anyone planning to make the drive down to Pittsburgh next week?
  10. That means Skenes will be on his game for his next start, which comes against Toronto lol.
  11. Would be nice to make the drive down to Buffalo to go watch him pitch!
  12. Will be interesting to see who the Jays top 3 starters are in the ALDS. They'll be able to set up the rotation the way they want if they avoid the WC round, which will be nice. Assuming Bieber is healthy and shows elite form, he's your Game 1 starter. The other two starters I would go with right now would be Scherzer in Game 2 and a toss-up between Gausman/Lauer for Game 3. Since the beginning of July, Gausman has looked like his old self and if he continues, probably go with him. A lot will be determined on matchups/lineups and also if Lauer keeps up pitching the way he has. Still 1.5 months left of baseball so a lot could happen from now until October.
  13. Would be hilarious after having a fire sale, the Guardians take the last WC spot from the Yankees and make it all the way to the World Series haha. Tigers had a fire sale last year and ended up winning a WC spot and going to the ALCS, so anything is possible. Wouldn't count Cleveland out lol.
  14. Yeah the one concern I have going into October is the management of the BP by JS.
  15. Yeah their roster plays very well in a short playoff series. Having both Kirby and Gilbert possibly pitching twice in a series, and with their top heavy bullpen which they'll be able to use frequently given the # of off-days gives them a nice advantage. As for their lineup, they rely on the long-ball with Raleigh and Suarez, but we've seen in close games where a HR could be the difference. Still a lot of baseball left until October, so anything could happen and change. But yeah out of all the AL teams right now, they're the ones I'm most worried about facing in a 5 or 7 game series.
  16. The AL this season is probably the most wide open its ever been! October baseball should be fun and the Jays like every other team have a chance to go on a deep run. Every AL team has their strengths and flaws and no team is perfect.
  17. The Rockies series last week definitely helped to pad some stats haha.
  18. LOL. You can also say the Jays are overrated as well, but won't go there though since I'm enjoying this season and not going to get into back and forth bickering with someone like you. I was talking about teams in the AL. Obviously, Phillies and Dodgers in the NL are better overall teams. Some top arms in the Mariners rotation have missed time this season. Gilbert is back healthy and starting to look like his old self and has put up elite numbers: in 16 starts has a 2.1 fWAR, 2.89 FIP, and 12.74 K/9. Woo has been solid and consistent throughout the season. Kirby is also starting to come around: 3.40 FIP and 1.5 fWAR in 14 starts. Castillo doesn't really scare me but when he's your No. 4 starter, can't complain. As for their pen, Munoz, Brash and Speier have all been really good. On paper, are the Jays arms significantly better? Jays have better BP depth, will give them that. Rotation wise, Mariners have more elite arms.
  19. Josh Naylor has 22 SB's this season. How? lol
  20. Out of all AL teams, the one I'm most worried about is the Mariners. That rotation + pen and their lineup has greatly improved with some key additions.
  21. https://www.threads.com/@soregasou/post/DNKACmhs1lR?xmt=AQF0Fhgwe_tDgz1osMd3BU49iOl88HOqR7_Ia-TlJ869vA Looks like Anthony Kay
  22. Good thing I saved my money not going to the game tonight! 😅
  23. People were offering me $20-$40 for my bobblehead when walking through the concourse haha. Had multiple people approach me 😅
  24. Definitely a nostalgic feel to the game yesterday seeing both Scherzer and Kershaw in an epic pitching matchup. Felt the Jays had Kershaw on the ropes a couple of times in the early innings. Strung together a lot of hits (singles) but could only plate one run. As the game was moving along, just felt that one run wasn't going to be enough. Unfortunately Jays BP collapsed in the 7th inning. Would have been nice if they could have kept it 2-1 or 3-1, though Little was erratic. Always a mistake to issue a lead-off walk the No #9 hitter. Still he's been one of the Jays best relievers this season, so give him a mulligan on this one. Some defensive blunders made a difference as well. The deflection that got by Clement, and think Bichette should have taken the guaranteed out at second base instead of going home throwing off balanced like he did. Otherwise, the game definitely had an October feel to it. Both teams were locked in neck and neck for the first 6-7 innings. Tough loss, but can't win every game.
