  1. The one plus is that Stroman is at least good, so I don't care if he acts like an entitled jerk or douchebag on Twitter. JPA on the other hand sucked and still was a douchebag on Twitter, which was far worse.
  2. Why would St. Louis do that?
  3. Chatwood got 3/38M. Cobb gets more.
  4. Yeah but the whole point of having Harrison & Diaz is because Travis can't stay healthy lol. Same with Tulo. At least with Harrison, you can move around all over, even in left field if need be. Last time I checked, the Jays outfield looks like Pillar + Pearce/Carrera + Teoscar right now.
  5. How much do you think Liriano gets as a FA?
  6. What would it take to get Andrew McCutchen? Last year on his contract and could plug him in right. Doubt the asking price is that crazy.
  7. I'd like to add a 1B. Could move some SP's or OF's.
  8. I'm completely lost at words. Wilner confirmed on Twitter as well.

If anyone wants tickets, have season seats again for the Raps so just shoot me a PM.
  10. I would do that, though just looked and not sure I could make room. Yakupov has actually been decent, same with Namestnikov. Unless I drop Joe.
  11. Glad to hear your recovery is going well Spanky!
  12. I could use some Jagr
  13. Wouldn't it be the same as the Jays starting Marco Estrada in a WC game?
  14. I do as well and I don't want to see both Barney & Goins getting 400+ AB's again in 2018. The frustrating thing is that any player over Goins or Barney are significant upgrades and can easily be acquired. The Jays either need to sign a MI like Eduardo Nunez (gives them a guy who could play all over & with speed) or Zobrist at least gives them a corner outfield option (something they need) who can play some 2B or SS.
  15. As a Plan B option to spell Tulo or Travis once or twice per week isn't going to hurt.
  16. Probably would have to do the 5/$150M with a club option for a 6th to get a deal done before free agency.
  17. Yeah tough debate on what to do with JD. You hope he can follow the career path of what Beltre has done, then he's worth every penny of that contract. If injuries and aging becomes an issue, then he might follow the career path of Scott Rolen.
  18. I'm sure you could get him at 30M per season, though it just depends on how many years he thinks he could get on free agency. That likely is the deciding factor.
  19. Might be able to get Pederson for a lot cheaper. He would be a good buy low. Though the Dodgers FO isn't stupid. As with Zobrist and the no-trade, he could waive it depending on his playing time with the Cubs. Would love to see him in a Jays uniform. Could even be a leadoff option. RF Ben Zobrist (S) 3B Josh Donaldson ® 1B Justin Smoak (S) DH Kendrys Morales (S) SS Troy Tulowitzki ® C Russell Martin ® 2B Devon Travis ® LF Teoscar Hernandez ® CF Kevin Pillar ® BN Steve Pearce ® BN Ezequiel Carrera (L) BN Alex Avila (L) BN Ryan Goins (L) or Dawrin Barney ® Zobrist could play 2B or SS when Tulo or Travis need a day. Or when one hits the DL, Zobrist takes over as the starting 2B or SS. Wouldn't have to see Goins or Barney play everyday. Then could move Pearce or Carrera to LF when Zobrist plays 2B or SS and slide over Teoscar to RF. I'd love to see the Jays bring in Alex Avila to share catching duties with Martin. Probably signs somewhere as a starter though.
  20. Dodgers have Kenley Jansen so not sure what use they would have for Osuna. Zobrist is definitely an interesting target and would be a nice piece. Could play both outfield corners & some 2B/SS (perfect to give Tulo & Travis rest sometimes). Cubs likely would trade him just for salary relief, especially since they have Baez & Happ. He's owed $28M for two more years. He has a no trade clause though during the first three years in his deal however.

Probably better putting money down on teams like Boston, Cleveland, OKC, Houston or San Antonio. At least you get better odds.
  22. I would do 5/150M which includes his next year of Arb.
  23. Cespedes was 2 years younger when he signed that deal. Donaldson will be 33 come 2019. Donaldson is a better player yes, though I don't think many teams will be lining up with 7 year deals on the table. All I was suggesting was on a short term deal, you likely have to go higher on the AAV. Someone suggested 4/100M and I said it likely has to be 4/120M to even start the discussion. Likely JD will be $30M per season I think, nothing lower especially on only a 4 or 5 year deal. I'd probably do a 5 years/$150M extension starting in 2018.
  24. 4 years/$120M would likely get it done. Probably would have to go with a higher AAV on a shorter term deal.
  25. Loading pages on this forum at times is a bit slower now. So it's not just me then.
