  1. The Blue Jays were considered a World Series contender on Opening Day, though things have changed since then. Look I agree as well the Jays are a solid team and "if" they can get to the Postseason, they have as good of a chance against anyone. Any upgrades can only help and give the Blue Jays a better chance at going further. I love the Bass and Pop trade, though those two alone won't put this team over the top. As well, lets see what the Jays do against teams like Tampa Bay, Minnesota, New York, Seattle over the next two months. They've beat up on some easy teams the past two weeks so I wouldn't get all excited and think this is the real team. It's funny how before this hot streak, everyone on here were panicking and crying for the Blue Jays to make significant upgrades. Now all of a sudden, posters like you and others are saying "this team is a World Series contender as is." Funny how things change that quickly.
  2. Haha not sure didn't watch. I still think he can be a solid BP arm. Would be a nice signing in the offseason as a starter turning reliever reclamation project.
  3. That didn't last long. Sanchez actually pitched well in his spot start. 8K's in 5 innings. Jays should bring back Sanchez and stick him in the pen!
  4. Phillies did good getting Marsh. Not a big fan of the Mets getting Ruf. I know he crushes LHP but JD Davis can be a solid guy.
  5. Angels are the worst organization.
  6. We need some relievers with high socks!
  7. Bring back Vernon Wells or Superman!
  8. Atkins needs to do this deal. Play the angle that Raisel Iglesias is related to Enrique Iglesias and more girls will attend the games. Perfect marketing ploy!
  9. Yeah they really drained it for Soto and that would have been expected from any team. I don't think we've seen a young generational talent like him get traded with 2.5 years remaining on his contract. They never had to drain the farm system for guys like Snell, Clevinger, or Manaea or any other trades in the past as much as like they did just for Soto, which obviously is understandable. Though after this big hit to their farm system, they better come away with a World Series over the next 2.5 years while Soto is in San Diego to make it all worth it. Otherwise, it's going to be tough being a Padres fan after 2024.
  10. Hazel Mae will be giving him a one-on-one interview asking questions like what is it like now playing for your childhood team and representing Canada! Sportsnet will definitely drive the Canadian angle haha.
  11. They've made some questionable signings and trades in the past. Preller has done well with some like acquiring Musgrove, signing Machado, trading for Profar, and signing Darvish. Though he has made some awful moves like with Justin Upton, Matt Kemp, Eric Hosmer, Will Myers, Ha-Seong Kim, and some of the trades like for Snell, Manaea, Clevinger haven't really lived up to the hype because of injuries. I'm shocked that they have been able to stay relevant after some the baseball decisions they made. They've done a fantastic job at drafting and developing prospects, which you have to give them props for. Otherwise, a lot of baseball decisions in terms of free agent signings and trades have been 50/50 and would lean more towards questionable. They need Tatis at 100%.
  12. Brownie19 not in the greatest mood today.
  13. Shots fired at AJ. haha
  14. Remember when they went crazy on Justin Upton and Matt Kemp?
  15. Gallo and Bellinger. Both have fallen off a cliff. Hope Gallo hits well in LA.
  16. Yeah I see Bass having more of a meaningful impact this season. Pop definitely has some nice potential longer term and love the team control.
  17. Pivetta would be a nice SP if the Red Sox are selling off completely, though doubt they move any arms.
  18. Bass and Pop definitely improve the pen. Not the biggest names, but they'll be nice guys for the rest of this season and next year!
  19. I love Canadian players! Jays should trade for more
  20. Bautista likely steps into the closers role now. O's still have a solid BP even after trading Lopez.
  21. Me being a dick? Geez, you need to chill out man. I'm not the only one spewing jokes on here, but sure blame me. Seriously lighten up man! You don't need to point out that Tapia was hot for the last month. It doesn't mean anything in the long term. If you think he'll keep up that level of play, you're dreaming. The guy even got a inside the park home run gifted to him. Talk about luck. Glad he's climbed back up to a 0 WAR though and no longer is a negative player!
  22. Some guys just can't play in New York. Look at Gallo, Sonny Gray, AJ Burnett, Javier Vazquez, etc.
  23. I want some Pasquantino and Pratto!
  24. Sure, then bat Tapia leadoff in Game 1 of the Wildcard!
  25. The Blue Jays need to add a player with an Italian last name to get some Italians off College Street and into the seats. Plus Team Italy not participating in the World Cup this winter, so Italians need baseball and the Postseason more than anything right now!
