I never said the FO should fix everything at one trade deadline. I still think this is a solid team when things go right and click, though the Blue Jays still need to get to the Postseason. If they miss out on making the Postseason, what do you think happens? This team was considered one of the World Series favourites before the season started and they don't even make the Postseason? Would be a huge disappointment. One of the weaknesses of this team heading into the season was lack of depth and lack of high K% relievers.
The Blue Jays are still 57-44 with most of their current stars underperforming and some stars being injured on and off, like Guerrero, Bo, Lourdes (lack of power), Springer and some others. On paper, this is probably the best core the Blue Jays have had since 92/93. Doesn't hurt adding or upgrading the roster if possible to give them a better chance down the stretch and if they make the Postseason. They did a nice job adding Bass and Pop for the bullpen. Adding another starter really wouldn't hurt in case there is an injury to one of the Jays top three. Another BP arm wouldn't hurt as well.
As well, another factor we have to consider is the border restrictions, which might have limited the Jays from targeting certain players or arms discussed on this board.
