  1. Trade Nate Pearson for him in the offseason.
  2. Yeah Rodon or Nola with higher WAR and K rates. The one downside though is only 178 innings with Rodon vs. Alcantara with close to 230. I think the voters/writers will lean towards him for that reason. Though yeah I agree, Rodon probably was the best pitcher not just in the NL, though across all of baseball. Nola's W-L record will hurt him and his ERA above 3, though he is very deserving as well.
  3. NL Rookie of the Year should be a bigger discussion: Spencer Strider or Michael Harris II? I would lean towards Strider but Harris II being an everyday player and he stepped up big with Acuna pretty much sucking this season.
  4. AL MVP: Aaron Judge AL Cy Young: Justin Verlander AL ROY: Julio Rodríguez NL MVP: Paul Goldschmidt NL Cy Young: Sandy Alcantara NL ROY: tough call between Spencer Strider and Michael Harris II (hope they can co-share it)
  5. It looked like he was well on his way at the end of August, though wonder if his slow September reduces his chances amongst the voters and the fact he plays 1B. Arenado and Machado play 3B which is what they have going for them and also both have higher WARs (7.3 and 7.4) than Goldy. In terms of counting power stats like HRs and RBI, they aren't that far behind Goldy anyways. Goldschmidt though does have a huge advantage in BA/OBP/SLG and wRC+ however. In terms of helping their team make the Postseason, well all of those three guys are in the same boat so that logic is pretty much a wash haha. I think it will be a lot closer now than it was in August. If voters dismiss the poor September Goldy had, then maybe he still holds onto that flame. Otherwise, I think the 1B position versus 3B position could go against him amongst the current voters. Regardless, if I was voting, I probably would still rank Goldy as my No. 1 since he was far superior offensively than any other player in the NL this season.
  6. Oh wow never knew that haha. Weird!
  7. He also got caught with a corked bat that season as well haha.
  8. In a short series, pretty much everything in a game is "magnified" at any point whether in the first inning or ninth inning. Whether it's a strikeout, walk, pitcher leaves a bad pitch hanging over the plate, a home run, an RBI, a defensive play or miscue, a stolen base, baserunning, a catcher blocking the plate etc. Can go on and on.
  9. I emailed OnlyFranz through Yahoo
  10. Hard to disagree with those selections. Would pick those teams to win as well.
  11. Keegan Murray
  12. Will make my pick. Debating on a couple of guys.
  13. MLB needs to authenticate that ball anyways, or else it's not worth millions to an investor. So even if he escaped and left the ballpark, tough to get full value without it authenticated.
  14. Yeah MLB didn't want the games to air in Seattle before noon so that's why the Jays got the 4PM timeslot on Friday and Saturday. Otherwise, if they facing the Rays, would have been 12:07 start times haha.
  15. Yeah no need to have both Zimmer and JBJ on the roster. Would keep Zimmer for his defense and baserunning abilities over JBJ. Biggio for his LH bat and his position eligibility will be valuable in a short series.
  16. Yeah if Kikuchi makes 60-70 pitches today, he likely would be unavailable until Game 3 of the Wild Card series anyways and would the Jays really want to use him in a Game 3? If he pitches well today, definitely can give him a look for the ALDS as an extra lefty out of the pen who can also pitch multiple innings if need be.
  17. Yeah definitely worth getting seats in the outfield. Even if you don't catch the HR ball, at least you get to watch a game and an historic one possibly.
  18. He wasn't even close to the ball from the looks of it lmao.
  19. Frankie Lasagna at least got some free air time from it on BT with Sid. Free promotion for his restaurant downtown on a major morning show. Not bad. The other guy, yeah I feel for especially.
  20. Good point. They likely would do a doubleheader on Wednesday if tonight is rained out. But I doubt they would force the Blue Jays to play on Thursday unless it was a meaningful game. That would suck. Doubleheader on Wednesday wouldn't be bad. They would get an extra roster spot correct? Also, only 7 innings, so let both White and Kikuchi start and let them throw 100 or so pitches to rest the pen. I would be more worried about playing conditions for the positional players. Wouldn't want anyone getting injured on a wet field.
  21. When I miss one or two teams in a NFL pool, I can't sleep an entire week. Imagine how he feels.
  22. I think I heard on MNF the four time slots are 2PM, 4PM, 6 PM and 8PM if I'm not mistaken. Might have been hearing things haha.
  23. See you Saturday Jay!
  24. Facing the Rays is like when the Leafs play the Boston Bruins in the first round. You want to avoid them if you could.
  25. Nah but I see them resting some of their regulars over the next two games if they can't get the 1st Wildcard seed. So anything could happen.
