The NFL has done a really poor job when handling these situations. Punishments should be more severe. Nobody ever talks about it. If a white sports commentator goes on ESPN and says Lamar Jackson or Kyle Murray are overrated, you'll have Twitter and the woke mob up in arms. It's sad these days that you can't criticize or asses a player anymore based on their skin colour. Say one negative thing about Lamar Jackson and you're seen as a racist.

It comes down to how people interpret a certain word. Using the word "Streetball" isn't racist at all. Though some people might associate the term with only a certain color of people and with playing in the ghettos. Even as a kid, myself I played streetball whether it was basketball, road hockey, touch football etc. That's what streetball is haha. When I hear the word streetball, I associate the term with unorganized sports/free-for-all. Whereas you play in a league, with coaches and training, it's more organized in terms of the way you play. Like for example, some kids on my school basketball team when it came to playing organized basketball with a team, running through plays, playing with a ref, couldn't do it. They couldn't follow a structure, call certain plays etc. Whereas when we played at recess or after school casually, with no rules, no coaching etc., some of those kids just dominated. Had nothing to do with skin color. So when I hear the term "streetball" being used in professional sports, it's more describing a player doing his/her own things, not following the structure/play/coach instructions etc.

I agree. Yankees can always open up the cheque book which definitely helps and why some players choose to play there. Also, think it has more to do with the legacy players want to have after putting on those Pinstripes. Some players after they retire want to be remembered playing in the Bronx, winning and being associated with the all-time Yankees greats. The big market as well plays a role if someone likes the spotlight and for endorsements etc. The Yankees brand doesn't just apply to New York - it applies to pretty much all over the globe. If I was a player, the Yankees wouldn't even be near my first choice for the reasons you stated. Wouldn't want to shave my beard haha. Obviously, if they offered me the most, I would sign with them. Though money aside, would prefer playing for many other MLB organizations over the Yankees if I were a MLB player or pitcher.

Like its sad now its come to this, where you can't criticize or make a statement regarding certain players due to their skin colour or else its seen as racism. C'mon! People didn't believe in Tom Brady when he was drafted in Round 6 or when he was a backup to Bledsoe early in his career. A lot of players across every sport are written off early or criticized about some certain aspect in their game. That's sports lmao! You can still make the case for Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen etc. Lets say if Josh Allen leads the Bills to a Superbowl this season, what is wrong with calling him the best QB in the game?

Props to the Jays and Ross Atkins. It's one of those trades you're happy about for good reasons though. Not because Tellez was awful or wanted to leave. Giving him an opportunity rather than rotting on the bench or in Buffalo. Tellez approached the Jays FO the right way and nice to see Atkins delivering. From a PR perspective, MLB players definitely take notice.
