    Yeah they'll likely hold their value but they won't be crazy expensive on StubHub. I went to Game 3 of the ALDS in 2016 and I recall tickets weren't that crazy. Even for a night game. World Series will be big tickets or a Game 6 or 7 of the ALCS.

    Yeah I was surprised to see how expensive it was for 500 level seats. $75 each + taxes/fees. Better to watch the games from home. 200 level or 100 level, while more expensive, are far better value. I remember in 2015 and 2016, tickets for the ALDS and ALCS were much cheaper on StubHub the same day of the game, lower prices than the box office. A lot of it was because either the team was losing already in the series and because of start times. The 2016 AL Wildcard game was really the only Postseason game that tickets had higher prices. If the Jays make the ALDS and come back down 2-0, Game 3 and 4 will be far cheaper than the Blue Jays prices currently. That's why I didn't go all crazy this year. Figured it won't be that difficult to get ALDS tickets if I wanted to go to Game 3 or 4.

    Ended up getting Sec 235, Row 9 for Saturday's game. At least I'll get to see one of Gausman or Manoah haha. Hope the Jays clinch that game!

    In previous years, tickets were sold out quick. I'm guessing the high cost (for decent seats will be $300 per pair), along with it being the Thanksgiving weekend (people might be going out of town, spending it with family etc.) and also the uncertainty of start times. Plus ALDS Game 3 and 4, could be elimination games. If the Jays came back to Toronto down 2-0, those seats for Game 3 aren't worth as much and doubt they're would be much excitement for that game from casual fans.

    Site is glitchy though. When you select seats, waiting to process and then they say someone else grabbed them. Figured I would try and grab a pair for Game 2 or 3 or both since they're on a Saturday and Sunday. At least if its an afternoon game, won't be too bad.

    Toronto Film Festival was going on as well correct? That could explain why a Friday night game might not have been busy.

    You could either buy one huge mansion or buy 3 beautiful homes in Calgary for $2.3M and all better than that bungalow at Dufferin and Eglinton. Crazy haha.

    For sure the Braves/Padres and Phillies/Cardinals will be given preference over the AL matchups lol. Earliest time the Seattle series would start would be at 3 or 4PM. Or maybe 6PM or 7PM though I bet they give that to one of the two NL matchups. If the Blue Jays play Tampa, games will start at noon or 1PM for sure. If the Jays play the Mariners, either looking at a 3PM-4PM start time or possibly a 6PM or 9PM timeslot if they want to showcase J-Rod on prime time.

    Yeah they always give the Jays awful timeslots. Even in 2015 and 2016, most home games starts at 1PM or 4PM on a weekday which was awful.

    Didn't your favourite President announce the pandemic was over? COVID is likely going to be here to stay. Most new variants will be vaccine resistant anyways though those variants will be a lot weaker than previous strains of the virus. Kudos to you for taking the right approach and not letting COVID stop you from enjoying the things you enjoy like sporting events or concerts or hanging out with friends. The way it should be!

    Also, it's the beginning of Fall season and usually this is the time most people get sick with the change in weather, especially when its damp. Always happens. Even I had a sore throat over the last couple of days. I bet a lot of old folks and longtime Jays fans will still be attending games in the Postseason. Also, the games are still an excuse for a lot of the younger casual fans to go out, have some beers and party.

    Yeah also factor in being a Monday night, school night on top of that and on a cold/rainy evening with the dome closed. Not like a Monday night game in the summer with nice weather and the roof open. Do you still follow the number of Covid cases everyday? I get the feeling most people have moved on. Restaurants, bars, malls and even entertainment venues are still packed. The Weeknd concert over the weekend (no pun intended) was sold out. Maybe certain age groups will be more cautious when it comes to attending large events but majority of people in the 20-40 age range likely will still be attending sporting events or concerts.

    Most concerts and entertainment venues this summer across Canada were all packed. Don't think the fear of Covid plays a huge role at all anymore to be honest. Sure maybe for some people, but it's a small minority. Main reasons are likely crappy weather and a crappy economy like you said.

    They probably heard about it on Twitter or on Sportsnet just last night and I'm sure some will be heading down to the dome tonight and Wednesday.

    Did they have a rain delay last night as well? Could be the reason why the ballpark was completely empty. People left likely and a lot of people don't even bother going down to a game when the weather is crap and that limits the number of walkups especially for a ballpark with no roof. Plus, its the Reds and Pirates we're talking about at the end of September haha. Also, it was Monday Night Football.

    Yeah I was surprised as well. Maybe because it was a Monday night and it was cold and rainy yesterday, which probably limited the amount of walkups. Also, I do think a tough economic crisis plays a role somewhat. Though people will still spend money they don't have, so I don't think it's the main reason why the Jays didn't have 40K fans. Regardless, going down to a game was always expensive when you factor in transit or parking, food, drinks and tickets as well. Two 100 level infield seats are going to be $200 for a pair, dinner $50+ along with beers at the game which will run you almost $15 per can. Best to sometimes watch a game in the comfort of your own home, with your own food and own beer haha. Even myself, would rather save that money to spend on a Postseason game if I had the choice. I think the next 2 games against the Yankees will be 40K plus since the Aaron Judge HR chase is all Sportsnet and sports radio shows talked about yesterday.

    When the Giants won their first World Series in 2010, how much postseason experience did their rotation have? If an injury happens to one of the Jays top two starters, they feel it more than the Mariners if they lose one of their Top 4 guys in the Postseason. Regardless, in a short series anything can happen. Like I said I prefer Gausman and Manoah as a Top 2 but doesn't mean the Jays are a lock for a win every time they step out onto the mound. As well, the Blue Jays have to either start Berrios or Stripling in Game 3 or maybe a Game 4 (if we're talking about a 7 game series) depending on the off-days in the series. So if a team like the Mariners took one game off Gausman or Manoah, I think they have the advantage in that series moving forward. Overall, I do consider the Blue Jays the better team all around to make a deep run in the Postseason. I wouldn't write the Mariners off though in a 3 game series however, or even the Rays.
