  1. Strider wasn't even expected to pitch that deep today anyways. Was cruising the first two innings and fell apart in the third. That long AB to their 9th hitter + the bad throw over to first really sunk him. He hasn't started a game since Sept 18th I believe, so definitely a little rust and not 100%.
  2. Yeah sometimes they can freeze or lag. Otherwise, for the price you save on cable its still very decent. If you're watching regular programming, it's more than fine. If you're watching an important sporting event, I would stick to Sportsnet NOW or TSN Direct at least. Even still, they could sometimes lag depending on your WiFi. Last thing you would want is to miss an important play or game deciding moment haha.
  3. Get an Android box.
  4. Haha. I'm okay with just the Leafs and the odd Canadian team. Wish they would do something like that for MLB next season. If they did, I would definitely upgrade to the Premium.
  5. Yeah even when I had cable before, would only watch live sports and the odd time something on one of the other channels. Otherwise, its a waste paying $70-80 a month for cable. I'm not renewing my MLB TV subscription for next season since Jays games are blacked out and since I don't watch as much baseball as a I used to in order to justify it. If I were able to watch Jays games, would have still kept it.
  6. Do you have Sportsnet NOW Premium? Only difference is you have all NHL Games?
  7. I paid $169.49 (all taxes in) for Sportsnet NOW Standard. TSN Direct was more expensive - $225 (all taxes in). Both for a 12 month membership. Sportsnet NOW is easier to use since you can download their app on your smart TV or devices. TSN Direct doesn't have an app yet which is very disappointing, so you either have to use Google Chromecast to stream from your computer nearby to your TV.
  8. Did you call or through email?
  9. Thanks for that update. That's $25 USD. Buys me a case of beer for the weekend haha. I'm not renewing MLB TV for next season. I had to also get Sportsnet Now to watch the Blue Jays, and I'm just going to roll with that since they also show out of market games on their other channels.
  10. Thanks. I had John Wall on my list but saw he was snatched right before me this round.
  11. I'm seeing a lot of ads about having a free TTC in Toronto. Election campaign ads for Jack Yan as mayor of Toronto. Not sure if it's just me. Though I thought we kept politics off this board. The Hurl shouldn't be accepting money from politicians.
  12. Lmao what is your problem? You know some posters on here many times said it wasn't an issue having an all RHB heavy lineup. Are you thinking I'm referring to you?
  13. I emailed OnlyFranz
  14. I think it does as well even though some posters on here don't think it matters. Having a solid LHB in the middle of the lineup definitely can make a difference especially against a good RHP.
  15. I took Victor Oladipo. Whose next?

Reimer was never the same after his injury. I think he had some nice potential.

Jose Theodore was top notch. I heard his problem was he enjoyed the Montreal nightlife and girls too much afterwards haha.

In each of his four seasons with the Leafs, they made the Playoffs and some of those years performed really well in the Playoffs. They ran into some tough New Jersey Devils teams I recall two of those four years. Save percentages in the Playoffs were .907, .932, .927 and .914 over his four seasons. He almost got them to the Stanley Cup in 2001-2002. Lost to Carolina in the Eastern Conference Finals. He's probably been the Leafs best goalie over the last two decades & counting.

On a serious note, CuJo was pretty solid. He almost carried the Leafs to the Stanley Cup in 2002 and they did have deep playoff runs with him at least. Ed Belfour had some great seasons for them (2002-2003 & 2004-2005), though I recall never had much success in the Playoffs those seasons.

    Vesa Toskula
  21. Hasn't lived up to expectations since being called up, though maybe a change of scenery would help. He's still only 23. Would be willing to roll the dice on him if the Cards are selling low. Even posted 2.4 WAR this season despite putting up awful offensive numbers.
  22. I'll buy a Nootbar jersey!
  23. Yeah I can't imagine Romano would have been sharp after throwing 2 innings and 29 pitches as well. I think you would have needed a combination of Stripling and Berrios to take you maybe into the 7th, and throw in guys like Pop, Bass, Phelps and Richards for sure. Garcia, Cimber and Mayza likely still would have been available, though who knows how sharp they would be after being used 3 consecutive days. Or use Stripling for the first and maybe second time through the order, use some relievers in the middle and then have Berrios close it out. Mariners would have been short handed as well, so definitely would have been an interesting game.
  24. Even if the Jays pulled out a win in Game 2, what would have Game 3 looked like? I'm assuming they start Strip with Berrios backing him up. But what about the late innings? Would have Romano been available on Sunday in a save situation? Would have been three days in a row of work for Mayza, Garcia and Cimber, but they had low pitch counts the previous two days. Though even still you wouldn't be able to push them that hard.
