  1. Hendriks in 2019 was amazing - 3.9 WAR season. Devin Williams has the potential to put up a 3+ WAR season IMO. Diaz in 2018 and this season was amazing as well. Kenley Jansen in 2017 - 109 K's vs. 7 BB in 68.1 innings, 3.4 WAR.
  2. Yeah not sure we'll ever see another reliever for a while put up a season like Gagne did in 2003.
  3. Geez Eric Gagne from 2002 to 2004. In 2003, he was perfect in save situations and won the 2003 NL Cy Young. Mark Prior though should have won that season. 0.86 FIP, 4.7 WAR, 14.98 K/9 - Gagne was a beast that season. Do you think we see another reliever put up those numbers out of the BP over a full season?
  4. I remember Brad Lidge and even Eric Gagne those seasons. They both were beasts. I'm just going by what someone like Diaz got as a FA this offseason. He'll be one year younger than BJ Ryan was when he started his new contract with the Jays. I think someone like Ryan today probably gets 5 years still around $80-90M or something similar to what Diaz got.
  5. Abreu is a nice addition to that lineup. Coming off a 4 WAR season despite not hitting for much power at all. He has increased his BB% the past two seasons which is nice to see.
  6. 5 years and $47 million gets you someone like Robert Suarez these days haha. That 2005 offseason was fun. Jays brought in BJ Ryan, AJ Burnett, Troy Glaus, Lyle Overbay and Bengie Molina. Yeah the BJ Ryan contract turned out bad. Too bad he couldn't stay healthy. Though his first season here he was lights out and fun to watch close out games. 2.7 WAR in 2006. In 2008, he was still decent but not as sharp or in the same form as he was in 2006. In today's market, a reliever or closer like BJ Ryan probably gets 5 years close to $90-100 million.
  7. Or T-shirts being sold outside of dome saying the same thing haha.
  8. $8M on a one-year deal isn't bad. Not a fan of Clevinger, but if he's healthy there is some upside with him. Otherwise he's just a so/so No. 5 starter like we saw last season. Low K's, doesn't pitch deep into games, etc. Any decent starter is probably going to be $12M-15M per. I could see Stripling getting $2/30 minimum.
  9. Yeah, Belgium didn't look good at all against Canada or Morocco. Looks like Croatia and Morocco will be going through. Canada is still pretty raw as a group. They have potential and with more experience they should get better in the upcoming years.

I still say Buffalo. As long as they don't beat themselves.
  11. Roberto Osuna?
  12. Will be interesting to see how much he gets.
  13. Not a bad signing as a 1B/DH bat against RHP. He can get on-base still and has some pop left in the bat.
  14. A lot of the trade does ride on what the Blue Jays do with that extra money they save. If they don't reinvest that money elsewhere on the roster for 2023, then yeah in the short term doesn't look like a huge win. Though doubt the Blue Jays just stand pat and not add another OF by time Opening Day comes around. From a controllability perspective, if Swanson over the next three seasons combines to post 4-5 WAR as a reliever, along with Macko doing something, then the Jays benefit for sure.
  15. US and England should be a good match later!
  16. It's a tough one for sure. Thanks for that solid offer! Will definitely give it some consideration.
  17. I could also make a trade in this league.
  18. Could be open to making a blockbuster like trading Freddie Freeman. Maybe a 3B or a SS. Could also move one of my excess 2B either Wong or Polanco.
  19. Looking to make a Thanksgiving Day trade!
  20. Yeah I never understood the Grichuk contract extension at all. I had no issue with the trade when it was made but didn't think there was a need to sign him to an extension. Some other trades like you mentioned, they never got the best value back. Osuna I guess was tough because the allegations against him after.
  21. Brewers can't waste these next two seasons with both Woodruff and Burnes under control. Don't think they'll ever have another powerful 1-2 punch like that for a while!
  22. Canada has to beat Croatia on Sunday or at worst draw. Hope Belgium than beats Morocco which they should and their third game against Croatia. Canada then needs to beat Morocco which can be doable. They could have either tied or beat Belgium today if some of those shots found the back of the net.
  23. Belgian soccer fans are super nice. When I was at the Euros in 2016 and saw Italy vs. Belgium in Lyon, the night before all their fans were out drinking, having a great time and very friendly even towards Italian fans, even during and after the game. Huge respect!
  24. Question is would the Blue Jays have enough to make a package for Woodruff or Burnes?
  25. Gallo would be a great bat as a platoon. Has 30-40 HR upside, and would love hitting at the Rogers Centre. Definitely on board if Toronto signed him.
