    Berrios has been the Jays second best starter this season. No need to give him an early hook. Schneider's bullpen management has been awful. Like you said, I feel like he wants to use 4-5 relievers per game because he has them available, even if he doesn't need them.

    Yimi Garcia has been one of the best relievers this season for the Jays. He should be used in every close game, despite blowing a lot of leads! It's just bad luck and everything will even out eventually, even if we're already in September!

    Yeah agreed that you shouldn't sell low on him. It's better to hope he has another monster season in 2024 or 2025 (or both) rather than trade him for the sake of trading him. It would have to be for another high upside exciting young player like a Juan Soto or FTJ. Not sure if even something like that exists.

    Only way I could rationalize Alonso is that he should be a lock for 40 HR's and 3-4 WAR. Vladdy still has two years of control left and is younger, which would attract the Mets. Downside for the Jays is that he's going to be an expensive player in his last two arbitration years, even if he doesn't produce solid numbers. If Vlad doesn't show any improvements over his 2023 season, you risk paying him close to $18-20M per season for a below 1 WAR player. Padres could be interesting since I'm sure they want to shake things up this offseason given their disappointing 2023. FTJ or even Juan Soto would be nice targets. Soto has one more year left of control. Would actually prefer Soto over Alonso if I had a choice.

    Corbin Burnes or Brandon Woodruff could be potential targets but they will be FAs after 2024. Would prefer Freddy Peralta given his salary and the club options for 2024-2026, but doubt the Brewers move him. Christian Yelich could be interesting as well but he's going to be 32 and owed a lot of money still through 2028. Nothing really exciting. Would rather keep Vlad and bank on him having a monster season before he becomes a FA.

    Was an ugly win, but will take it. A win is a win. Need to sweep Oakland and great to see Texas getting crushed! Lets go!

    A Vladdy/Alonso swap could make sense for both clubs. I can't really think of any other trade matches off the top of my head. Maybe a trade with the Padres for Fernando Tatis Jr.? A young starting pitcher like Luzardo or Alcantara? Not really sure. Probably gotta just hope he has a big 2024 or 2025.

    Lmao geez don't get all worked up. I think he just comes across as a spoiled and uncaring brat. He also acts cocky and over confident most of the time, thinking he's a star player when he hasn't been playing like one. He's very immature overall. For some reason, no other player or coach pulls him aside or calls him out for his lack of hustle or stupid base running decisions. Maybe it happens behind closed doors but it seems like if one of the players or coaches criticize him, he's the type of player who will throw a fit or tantrum.

    What is the rule if someone in the original lineup gets scratched and replaced? Does that replacement player count in the starting lineup or on the bench?

    This team also lacks a veteran tough minded player like Josh Donaldson or Jose Bautista. I'm sure one of them would let Vlad hear it or take him aside in the dugout after. George Springer you would think is that guy, but him and Vlad are Smucker Jam buddies lol. This coaching staff pretty much seems afraid of him for some reason. But again we don't know what happens behind closed doors. As for Toronto fans, they're mostly casuals who want to enjoy the new rooftop patios, socialize and sip on the $18 beers or vodka coolers. To them, if they look at Vlad's HR and RBI total, they probably think he is their best player lol.

    Atkins has already used the "fire manager" card once, so it would be tough using it again especially after only 1.5 seasons of Schneider. The time to bring in a new manager was last offseason. If the Jays miss the Postseason, you'll have some people in the media question Schneider and the coaching staff for sure to an extent. Again blame should be put mainly on the players, but Schneider and the coaching staff also own it. Something is fundamentally wrong with this team and when you look at the way the lineup has performed over a full season (not just one or two bats but a majority of your star players), you really have to start questioning what is going on. This team really needs a veteran tough hard-nosed no BS manager. Someone like a John Gibbons would have been perfect with this group.

    Yankees have been a huge disappointment. Even on paper, I didn't think they had that great of a team. I could see them having a big offseason which worries me. I really think they go hard after Ohtani.

    You're pretty much stuck in limbo with Vlad. Only way you trade him is for another star young player who needs a change of scenery or for someone like Pete Alonso maybe. Otherwise, just hold onto him and hope he has a big FA year where he could go .300/40/100 and reap the benefits. This organization and even the media treat him like he's a king when he isn't playing like one. It's all because of his father. Never saw such an arrogant, whiny and spoiled player in my life. Makes it really tough to like him, same as Manoah.

    Schneider is a Beta just like Charlie was. Only difference is Schneider looks tougher with his built and beard. Otherwise, he lacks the toughness is takes to be a manager. Sometimes you have to send a message to young and arrogant players like Vlad. I would bench him next game or heck even taken him out yesterday. But Schneider and this coaching staff don't have the kahunas to do so. If this team misses the Postseason, the whole coaching staff should be gone (minus Pete Walker and some other pitching coaches). As well bringing back Schneider is on Atkins. He owns it.

    Smoked a Cohiba Connecticut from Dominican. Cuban Cohiba robusto's are my favourite though. Olivas are great as well, bought a box of Connecticut Reserves from Nicaragua. Bought all my stuff at airport Duty Free's this summer haha. But yeah cigars here in Canada are expensive. Even a pack of the mini Cohiba's run you $70-80. Will have to check out the Reserves. Enjoy man! Go Jays Go!
