Tim Lincecum in 2008 and 2009 was one of the most dominating and fun starters I've watched. I purchased MLB Extra Innings those years to watch every start of his.

This has to be one of the more frustrating seasons in Blue Jays history. I know this organization has had awful seasons before, though given the timeline and expectations of being a Postseason contender, this really sucks. As well, the product on the field for the most part isn't entertaining to watch or easy to root for. Other than the rotation and the Buffalo guys. At least during the Gord Ash years, there was Roger Clemens, Shawn Green, Carlos Delgado, Shannon Stewart, Jose Cruz Jr, Jose Canseco, Brad Fullmer, Tony Fernandez to name a few players who were so much fun to watch! In the JPR years, they had Halladay in top form, Delgado, Wells, O-Dog, Glaus, Reed Johnson, the Cat, Burnett, McGowan and Marcum. During the AA years, the first couple of years were tough but we all knew it was a rebuild and didn't expect the team to contend. Still had Bautista, EE, Ricky, Yunel, Brandon Morrow, Brett Lawrie, Colby Rasmus, Casey Janssen. I would say the 2013 and 2014 seasons were frustrating given the massive trades and expectations the Jays had, especially the 2013 season.

Brownie19 and the Atkins cult got so excited when the Braves offense was in a rut for that short stretch. Braves actually have talent up and down their lineup and it was just a matter of time until they were going to bounce back. They're 42-31 even with Acuna being awful and out for the season, Harris being awful, along with some other bats and missing Murphy for a good chunk of time. They got guys who can hit for power at least. Rotation wise, tough losing Strider for the entire season. It would be the equivalent of the Jays losing Gausman. Rotation was looking a bit shaky, but Schwellenbach has looked better. Chris Sale has looked like a Cy Young candidate, Max Fried has been solid and Charlie Morton keeps doing his thing at the age of 40. Reynaldo Lopez still looks sharp and hasn't looked like he's struggling with an increased starters workload. Think it would be wise for the Braves to maybe add another elite arm to their rotation if they could, or some elite BP pieces at the deadline. Every team has issues such as injuries, players struggling etc. during the regular season. Though it shows you that you can't make excuses. Look at the Braves and Yankees for example with all the challenges they had to endure in the first half.

Haven't seen Brownie19 post in a while. Need the Jays to sweep the White Sox so he comes out from hibernating haha.

Watch Florida win Game 7 and all Oilers fans and Canadians get heart broken after an epic comeback. Should be an interesting game on Monday night.

Jays need to face the White Sox, Athletics and Angels more. Then they would be a couple games over .500 and within striking distance of a WC spot!

Yeah unless a team is desperate for starting pitching at the deadline. Those two years at the backend of his contract look like they could be a disaster.

Why would you want to keep Berrios in the latter years of his contract? Even if the Jays have a short rebuild and are contenders in 2026/2027, they might need that $18.7M elsewhere and Berrios won't be the same arm we saw in 2021/2023/2024 in 2026/2027. Keeping Bassitt makes more sense since he's a FA after 2025 anyways, so it's short term. Berrios, we're talking about potentially $86M over the next 4 years!

Not at $18.7M per season for a pitcher who likely will have a FIP above 4. He's under control until 2029 unless he opts out after 2026. He's already 30-years-old and the back end of his contract might not look too good in another year or so. You can easily find an arm that could give you innings and a 4 FIP and it won't cost you years or $18.7M. His contract in the last 2-3 years could be an albatross so best to cash in now and let him be another teams problem.

Soto ain't coming here. Maybe they have a chance at Bregman since he's already 30 but not sure how many years you would want to go with him especially given his age and his struggles this season.

Yeah would be nice to clear that money and contract. Berrios is a solid arm who could eat innings, but he's no ace or anything. Having a solid season still, so there likely would be takers. Free up that money!

Yeah you make a good point about keeping Bassitt for that very reason. Jays would need to sign a similar guy anyways for next year. Could probably even deal Bassitt at the deadline next season and still get a similar return. Gausman would still bring in a nice return. Sucks he's not a top 20 guy anymore like you said, because his first two seasons here in Toronto he was one of the elite starters in the game. It's a shame the Jays couldn't take advantage of those years Gausman was pitching at an elite level like he was. Hope he can put together a string of starts in July where he flashes that elite level again to convince other teams he still could be a bonafide No. 1 guy. Best time would be to trade him this trade deadline. If you wait longer, his value decreases more especially if he's just pitching like a No. 2/3 guy.

They were added to the roster because right now they're in panic mode. If they added some offense during the offseason, likely wouldn't see a whole wave of the Buffalo guys up. Hope some of the Buffalo guys can contribute and would be nice to see them help get this team out of their rut. Hope we see them playing everyday. Orelvis should have started at least one of the first two games he was called up for. Ridiculous.

Orioles should have brought back Kyle Gibson haha.

I think they need to bank on something else like help from outside the organization if they want to make WC3. Banking on Springer, KK and Turner still is ridiculous and it was ridiculous even before the season started.
