  1. I find it amusing that all the critics of the trade were unable to offer something better than Pomeranz, even though they knew Craig was on the block. They should be kicking themselves, more than Dinger.
  2. Still not going to vote for her. How much does Wynne predict?
  3. It's tough to watch Boston and the Dodgers (who can't find room for all their quality second basemen) while we have 3 sub .600 OPS guys we're debating between. To make matters worse, the Dodgers are the lead bet to snag Olivera. If we're too cheap for Olivera, you would think that the Blue Jay brain trust would be talking to LAD, about at least getting Alex Guerrero or Justin Turner.
  4. Sad that Andy Burns has fallen so far. Had high hopes for that guy at one point.
  5. As much as I hate to do it, I'm gonna side with Spanky on this one. That doesn't mean I condone his language, but the reaction seems a little disproportionate in a baseball discussion forum where we routinely refer to a one-sided trade as a rape, as if somehow drawing an equivalent between making a poor trade and actually being raped. We don't know which of our forum members are gay, nor do we know which forum members have a history of being raped. So, I don't really see much difference.
  6. It's definitely Munenori Kawasaki. He doesn't take s*** from anyone.
  7. Oh? I thought you were trying to make DDL more competitive.
  8. Nice of Colby to blame the Jays and the Rogers Center, one last time. I think of all the people that ever played MLB, he's the biggest whiner of them all. I've never once heard him accept responsibility. There's always someone else to blame.
  9. I know I'm not in this league, but why the f*** can't you post your pick in the forum, instead of making everyone go and check to see who you picked, to update the lists?
  10. I was thinking: "Man, these DDL guys think they're so s*** hot, and they're all drafting guys like Edinson Volquez, over Matt Adams. What a bunch of morons."
  11. The Jays won't admit it, but they have zero cash. They're not talking to anyone unless there is a chance of signing them to a minor league contract. The plunge of the Canadian dollar really hurt the Jays. They'll dump Navarro in a heartbeat, just to unload his contract, and I doubt they'll reinvest that $5 million.
  12. "living in a city with one of the best night lifes in North America" That's true. We are one of the top 500 cities for night life in North America.
  13. Somehow, I would be more comfortable with this conversation if BAM! was a euphemism for punching them in the face.
  14. I bet the girls will be especially impressed with the Hooters waitresses.
  15. Whoa! Are one of you guys connected with Leaside?
  16. Maybe we back door it through a third team, the same way that Tampa Bay got Yunel from us through Miami for next to nothing.
  17. You would think there would be a way to get Daniel Nava off the Red Sox. With Castillo, Betts, Craig, Victorino, Ramirez, Holt and JBJ, the Sox are gonna be hard-pressed to even give Nava a bench role. A guy with his OBP would be perfect for our homer-happy team.
  18. Yo RealMin, you back? How about letting the good folks over at LOD know what your plan is for the team? Are you gonna try to compete this year or are you gonna trade off some assets for prospects/picks? Either way, I want to do some trades with you.
  19. Kind of sad that using a drug of abuse carries a much heavier fine than actually cheating (PED's).
  20. You forgot to use '110%' and 'just taking it one day at a time'. It's not hard to say absolutely nothing interesting in interviews, but I really like the guys that aren't afraid to give you a little something juicy, that's outside of the standard answers that their PR coaches tell them to say.
  21. It's kind of funny. AA entered the game with this plan to buy-low on problem guys. He completely dismissed clubhouse effect, and bad attitudes, and picked up the league's problem children. Only through experience has he learned the value of having some decent guys in the clubhouse, and now he's doing the exact opposite - trading off all the 'too school for cool kids' for quarters on the dollar. If this was AA circa 2010, he would have jumped at the chance to pick up Everth Cabrera. Now, if only we could get rid of Bautista.
  22. I already miss Lind. He was a character, and would give some pretty bloody interesting interviews as long as the reporter didn't ask stupid questions. I think Lind is a lot smarter than people give him credit for. Can't say I'm surprised that Colby was a downer, with his blame-everybody-but-me and my dad- approach to the game. Couldn't stand that guy. Glad he's gone.
  23. I hear Melvin Upton has a new attitude in spring training.
  24. Ohhh, a race between GP and Hurl to see who can get their pick in first. Intense!!! It's like the Tortoise and the Snail.
  25. I've read that in the future of baseball pools there might be a way to send picks to other people in the event you're not around for an extended period of time. Don't hold your breath though. I expect we'll see flying cars long before that.
