I'm not really sold on Moran for this type of format. He's safer then the other two granted, but I sort of feel you need to draft upside here. I guess time will tell
Looking at the draft I though for sure that I'd be drafting whoever was left between Stewart or Frazier... than I remembered that Gibbers was above me... and its more than possible he could pick WAY of the board.
I think the biggest target we should shoot for is Brian McCann. The guys is pretty young and from all accounts is a good receiver. He may not get FMV due to inconsistent ply prior to this year. Then you can use JPA as trade bait for any GM dumb enough to look at this HR/RBI numbers and pop a boner.
SS - Reyes (S)
LF - Melky (S)
RF - Bautista ®
C - McCann (L)
1B - Edwin ®
DH - Lind (L)
3B - Lawrie ®
CF - Gose (L)
2B - Boni (S)
Lineup looks pretty decent, pretty balanced, the defense is better (marginal upgrade in CF and big upgrade at C). It might not even cost that much more with Colby due for a raise and JP going for Arb1. Then we also get a return from those 2.
Anyone have interest in Marcell Ozuna?
He's had a great year so far, but my OF is packed with Upton and Brown at the MLB Level with Taveras close. I'm not clamoring to move him, but he could be useful to someone as a long term asset.
I'm also considering moving McLouth. He has been a nice combo of average, OBP and steals this year.
I'm tired of watching Morse and Brown hitting bombs on the damn bench.
I'm shopping 1-2 OF'ers not named Upton (who is available, but the price is high).
Morse, Brown, McLouth available.
Cain and Upton, less so but everyone is.
