I actually went back to the old board for a larf (didn't post or anything). About 50% of the threads were started by Sempai and most of the others by other trolls.
We really should make an effort to ensure new people who are looking to actually talk baseball can find this place. The lack of thread spamming alone is wonderful.
I like him. Good enough FB for a lefty with a little projection left, potential ++ breaking ball, change up has nice separation. I don't see whats not to like
I do wish I got more for Shields, but I've been shopping him for what seems like months and I haven't got the kind of deal I wanted. I get the feeling that prospects and picks are WAY overvalued in this league.
*edit* Not that I don't like Ventura and Giolitto
Also interested in dealing some of my older (but still useful) position players. I'll need something close to the MLB as my MiLB roster will be filling up.
Brandon Crawford - average is still holding up and could be semi-useful to a team with no SS depth
Nate McLouth - Has been a fantastic source of Hits and SB's. Available.
Michael Morse - Has the potential for power.
Sale on pitching, everything must go. I'm looking for pitching prospects, close to the MLB preferred.
Will listen to offers on;
James Shields
Josh Johnson
Matt Garza
Josh Beckett
Kevin Correia
Ted Lily
Doesn't really seem terribly out of the norm, not sure why Maddon reacted like that. I think the whole 'baseball policing itself' thing is a pretty dumb system, but thats the system.
