    Tim Tebow has retired. Or, opted to announce a "retirement" instead of having his release notice public. Lol, ZIPS has him projected for -3.6 WAR in 92 games! If he started played baseball out of high school instead of football, he might have actually been able to have a lengthy MLB career.

    That's fair, as have I. I think we have all heard the "baseball is boring" arguments amongst family and friends. I have grown accustomed to it and stopped trying to argue it. I feel like having minor league affiliates all across small town america is better for the sport than without though. An affordable and fun way to watch the game for families. I don't think reducing the minor leagues to one or two teams is going to help with that.

    Having precisely *one* minor league affiliate has to be one of the worst ideas I've ever heard. Good luck sorting out playing time to your 40-man roster guys in AAA, oh and your guys signed on minor league contracts as depth, and then all your top prospects from the draft and IFA class. It does not make sense. There is a *huge* gap in talent level between the Dominican Summer League and AAA. The levels exist for a reason. Sorry Jays24, but these arguments seem unfounded and silly. Baseball is its own sport, why does it matter what the NBA does for it's development league? The minor league system worked fine, and it will continue to work fine. Do you even like baseball? Maybe hockey would be improved from using the ECHL as an actual affiliate rather than just a place where prospects go to die? Maybe having playing time for all the players in your system is a good thing.

    Yeah I don't think Saskjaysfan's take is unfounded. He has some valid points. I think there's no real point in arguing this as there is no real way for anyone to know until the season starts. Paxton could bounce back or he could suck, it's just guessing either way.

    20 innings before he was shutdown with a forearm flexor strain after coming off an offseason with a major spinal surgery... lol. I mean he could bounce back. I wouldn't say I "fully expect" his velo to be back.

    Maybe? I just saw the rotowire news update on his Fangraphs page. Heyman apparently said he "reached 94 MPH". That doesn't sound too great to me, but I could be corrected.

    - Different workload for starters than relievers - Paxtons velo was way down while Yates was not - Yates had elbow surgery last summer and presumably has rehabbed while Paxton had spinal surgery last offseason and hasn't looked the same since - Paxton threw for a handful of teams and no one was willing to give him more than 1/8 The report from his bullpen session which he threw in front of teams was that he "reached" 94.. likely he was still sitting 91-93. Used to sit 96. He could just be done, if his arm has caught up to him, the velo train doesn't last forever. Just some ideas

    I just can't imagine looking at a dynasty league ranking and seeing Monte Harrison, Jake Fraley and Khalil Lee ranked over Kirk and thinking "well, I guess that must be right."
