I think it's because there's a big disconnect between the message board geeks like us, the average fan, and the person who is watching a game and doesn't really know much. You can't really cater to all three in one broadcast.
My main point was that Tabler was lucky he didn't say anything worse. He clearly had no idea why German was suspended. As there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos and that'll be a home run. And so that'll make it a 4-0 ballgame.
He quotes them everyday though, it's enough for me to think he's not making it up. Probably just knows someone who works in a college baseball teams analytics department who feeds him the info.
