  1. https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/mariners/mariners-executives-kept-jobs-after-3-women-left-with-workplace-complaint-settlements/ Lmao "Seattle lawyer Robin Phillips wrote to the Mariners, outlining complaints by two executive assistants aimed largely at Mather, according to three people with knowledge of the matter. Two of the people said Aylward’s executive assistant complained that Mather had repeatedly rubbed her back and made suggestive comments that made her feel uncomfortable. In interviews with The Times, a former colleague of the woman recalled her taking steps to avoid interactions with Mather, and another recalled her privately expressing frustration at Mather’s interactions." This guy deserves every bit of the cancel train coming his way
  2. This is a bad take, sir.
  3. Can you imagine the shitstorm if Mark Shapiro did this?
  4. This doesn't mention his comments about not wanting to pay for Iwakuma to have a translator and his comments about JRods English
  5. https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/mariners/mariners-ceo-kevin-mather-addresses-jarred-kelenic-team-finances-and-more-in-rotary-speech/ God damn what a f***ing moron. This is already going over well: Here's a thread with all of the comments he made.. This is just not good
  6. Bauer is going after Stroman on twitter now lmao
  7. Jim's stupidity shut the board down for 10 minutes. Nice job, Jim.
  8. This was one of the most pathetic dick stroking efforts I've seen on this board. Nicely done, Jim.
  9. Jesus Christ
  10. I can cross off Patrick Murphy shoulder issue on my Blue Jays Spring Training bingo card
  11. Nevermind I have a workaround. Thanks!
  12. I would like to request that the board specifies preferred gender pronouns right underneath the forum users name for all to see.
  13. Last I heard he was locked up for public masturbation. Apparently, he started to lose his marbles a bit. Not uncommon for people on this board (from stories I've heard through the grapevine). He did have a meltdown here before his account was deleted by the mods.
  14. I think it's just the nature of being an athlete. You want to win at the end of the day. In the grand scheme minor league championships are probably meaningless, but they are still fun to win. Each player gets a pretty nice ring if they win, too. The injury thing is a different topic but not uncommon. There are many stories about org. players not disclosing injuries to their teams as that would put them on the fast track to get released. I mean what would you prefer as a player - a 142 game grind with no finale? You're literally playing meaningless games for the entire summer. It might as well be spring training. At least with playoffs, you have some closure to the season and a chance to win a championship with your teammates.
  15. Good point here from Loupdogg
  16. This is very funny to me and not entirely surprising
  17. I think they care about it more than you think. At the end of the day, it's a real team playing games on the field working towards a championship. They are competitive athletes and I am sure most of them want to win.
  18. The minor league schedule was announced today. Buffalo plays over half of their games (72) against Rochester and Syracuse. I didn't realize that Monday is a universal off-day now. And the minor league season won't end until September 19th. No playoffs! Basically just exhibition games.
  19. I read on twitter that after taxes, Tatis will only net $169 mil. Add in a 10% payout to Big League Advance and another $17 mil to his agency, this contract takes a hit for him pretty fast. I think he will make millions in sponsorship deals though, so he should be OK, as long as his dad doesn't take advantage of him and gamble it all away.
  20. It's a company called Big League Advance. There are lots of articles on it, and lawsuits. It's even stupider when you consider he signed with the White Sox for $700k, which should reasonably be enough to live comfortably as a minor leaguer until he made it to the majors.
