  1. I had high hopes for Loperfido. If Pops and crew can do something for Sanchez then all the better. I guess he competes with Lukes for the LF position.
  2. Buck is one of the best people in baseball. He will be missed by me.
  3. Santander hit .175. Well, I suppose he can only get better offensively.
  4. Gee, it's like you're a kid on Christmas, your big brother Dodger got a car and you open up the package of coal.
  5. So what's next? I don't see any free agent outfielders that are worth having outside of Bellinger. Do we have to just hope Santander can play a little?
  6. I gotta admit, I wanted Bo back as 2b was a pivotal position, but I also wanted a healthy Bo who's good for 140 games. Less likely.
  7. Aren't the sources the Butler boys?
  8. Hey we have guys making bids on the contract and thinking silence means he's going to sign somewhere or another. None of us know anything and we're not part of the contract negotiation. There could be a ton of reasons we don't know about.
  9. We can try to "figure out" what's happening, but whatever happens, will happen.
  10. I tend to see the HoF as nothing more than a high school popularity contest. Who should really care what happens within it.
  11. Yeah, it's a definite sign and $36 million wouldn't move the needle.
  12. I'm an experienced accountant and I remember learning from one of the Big 4 senior partners when there is a situation where the records are spotty and incomplete which is much like we have access to here. His straight opinion was follow the money you do know and fill in from there. In this case I see the amounts that went to the players and the amount that's been spent on the new contracts. I also know that Edward Rogers isn't the baseball fan that Ted was. SO that tells me there is cash flow and a whole lot that just came in. FX transactions aside, I'd put it closer to about $500 million in about 1 year and higher revenues in future years. You don't think they will continue to charge the same advertising dollars going forward? Nope.
  13. Okay, you get 11 position players: Infield: Vlad, Clements, Giminez, Okamoto Outfield: Tucker, Varsho, Barger, Springer (DH) Utility/bench: 3 players: Straw, Schneider and Santander? You need another infielder here I think. So if Tucker gets signed, Santander has to go.
  14. The problem is that we're overloaded with designated hitters. If you add Tucker, then the OF becomes Tucker, Varsho and Barger with Springer as DH. Let's assume Barger and Okimoto are either 3b or corner outfield. So where does Santander play? He's useless on the bench and keeps us from keeping a proper utility outfield.
  15. I'm not sure how this would work out but if we trade Santander and cover the deferrals, then wouldn't the pickup team only be paying something like $6 mill a year in cash for Santander. Might be interesting to some cash strapped teams looking for some potential. It might be something worth exploring.
  16. We're still overloaded with designated hitters. On a personal note, I would love Davis Schneider as the 2b. I can't justify it other than I think that guy is awesome.
  17. Gotta admit, I saw this one as nice bat, but no D. Could Vladdy move to LF? We have too many DH's
  18. Definitely worth it for all the other benefits they received.
  19. Think Dumb and Dumber: "So there is a chance..."
  20. Well, rumour is San Diego will trade Mason Miller but team has to take Xander Bogaerts. So he is moveable.
  21. Spring invite for Jorge Alcala. The perfect spring invite type.
  22. I don't know why we did that. We had two Rule 5's on the roster that are not going to make it.
  23. 10 over a whole season won't do much but at the deadline it could pay for the big strikeout reliever.
  24. I definitely take Bo at that price but if it's an either/or thing, what can you do with the $10 million difference?
