Don't know how his finger issue progressed. I'd say it's a huge issue. First half Chapman (before finger issue) YEAH. Second half (after injury) NO THANK YOU.
Completely agree. The only problem is that we have a lot of key positions with underperforming bats from prior year. If the RF, LF, DH and 1B could hit as well as they should then we could survive with a meh bat at 3b. But too many meh bats.
He's throwing that split finger in the middle of the plate. They're killing it. I'd suggest starting with a 98 mph fastball and then a split finger down at the knees or lower.
I think he will be the biggest waste of money. Not good enough offense to be a regular and too expensive to be on the bench. I'd rather spend every free minute trying to make Davis Schneider a viable 3b.
that's kind of what I'm getting at: we need to stop making excuses for management and push them for results. The Habs did that a few years back: the fans stopped going to games and the team had to do something. We need to stop making excuses for poor management and send a message.
That's kind of what I'm thinking. Too many people on this board try to think they're the GM and save money for the team. I once read somebody say during the JP years that he didn't want to spend on the bullpen. I say get Bellinger and one of those pitchers like Snell. We're not good enough to win right now. Ed Rogers will not spend if he doesn't have to. I just think we should stop making excuses for the leadership and get on with it.
The funny thing is we all like to think we're the GM and make trades, draft and spend a budget. But we're just the fans. Our job should be to demand the best team and put pressure on ownership.
I remember he had an appearance before blowing his arm, then came back throwing something that looked like a frisbee. 82 mph fastball and a slider. Probably be called a sweeper now. He was awesome.
