    I remember some of the discussion at the time and I think it centred around a lot of the teams were an hour behind and it would damage tv ratings or something like that. But it was discussed.

    The dumbest challenge of the season. If it was the 8th or 9th then okay but no value in doing this.

    this kind of play makes me wonder why we even have a 3b coach. Vlad didn't need to slide, if he stayed up he would have scored. The coach should be the eyes on the ball guy.

    I'm watching Pittsburgh's feed for the ballgame. Holy cow, that's a difference. Full analysis of a hitter's swing and its improvements year over year. Not that Hazel Mae fluff.

    I don't get bullpen management. We're ahead by a few so why not use Jackson or Pearson. A couple of guys are going to burn out soon.

    Springer lead off nicely with a single. Bichette walks. Varsho (who's stroke looks good) knocked in Springer. Chappy with a long fly out to CF. Then Belt with a double.

    Running out that double by Kirk looked painful.

    Hey if you use Jackson and he walks three guys then you can bring some high leverage in.

    Exactly. Makes no sense to me.

    I don't get it: the bullpen's been worn, we brought up Jackson, we're ahead 4 runs, why not throw Jackson in there and save Swanson?

    That's exactly what I was thinking. We may not be able to sign somebody else because of the money we sunk here.

    I'm not so sure about that: I remember at the time that I thought going $9.3 was high as I don't remember anyone else going for him. My best comparison was Bellinger. There was a lot of competition for him so obviously a lot of people felt strong about his ability. I don't remember anyone interested in Belt. It was only the lack of interest that had me thinking it was a mistake.

    I think Belt was injured and still is. He may be finished because of it. I also don't see who else was going to offer Belt $9.3 mm because of the health situation.
