  1. Just because Votto couldn't make it back does not make the Vogelbach signing justifiable in any way shape or form. He was released/waived once for a reason which was the right decision and nothing changed with him.
  2. true, I wasn't giving the credit for the big shift in hitting just wondering if he hits slightly better when playing 3b or 1b or even dh. Something else must have caused the difference between early season Vlad and the later part.
  3. By weak I mean that it is hard to correlate it specifically to one difference. Vladdy beginning of the season compared to Vladdy later looks like two different players.
  4. True the statistics are weak and could be impacted by more than one variable (an extra bat or enthusiasm for playing a preferred position). But some hitters have produced better depending on things like defensive position or batting order. I usually discount when a guy had to dh due to some injury type problem.
  5. anybody checked to see if his hitting is any different when at 3b?
  6. Now that makes a ton of sense!
  7. Now that makes a ton of sense!
  8. The tax situation in Canada is pretty bad right now compared to the US rates so getting good players to sign here is an uphill battle.
  9. Got rid of my main provider and just went with the IPTV. All the sports channels and movies on series and such on the iptv make the regular one redundant.
  10. I figure 4-5 starts against good hitters would help. This is one and a good one.
  11. I just go to a local provider, $15/month. The vendor is Infomir or something like that. I usually get even the Apple games, this last one though didn't come up. It's not the easiest for searching for programs and too many languages that I don't give a F about.
  12. Don't know how he'd play against some good hitters, but I'm still happy with recent outings. Looks like he turned a corner.
  13. 7 ip, 3 hits for Francis and he's looked good doing it.
  14. There's your answer!
  15. That wind must be something. That fly ball looked good for CF and ends up with Springer. And that last one looked like a homer for sure and Schneider got to it.
  16. I still think Vladdy has a TON of talent but a 5 cent head. I don't think he can lead a team through the post season. And I love this new Bowden Francis. He could be a really good one.
  17. I love this, whenever I complain about a player, they do something good: Loperfido's homerun, Springer being toast and Vladdy sucking. I should do it more!!
  18. Not really. In my mind three different reasons: 1. Going for last place and draft position 2. Belief that he's actually good, just hasn't done a damn thing. 3. He's the GM's guy.
  19. Why is Loperfido playing everyday?
  20. I thought 2/3 of that list of older options would be cannon fodder for real call-ups. Do we need starters and real relievers!!
  21. Don't we get to call up 2 players for September - I'm assuming a pitcher and a position player? Bloss could get a start or two in September. Don't know which bat I'd bring back other than Orelvis for the last week or so.
  22. whoever made the change sure earned his pay for the month.
  23. I guessed that's where you were going. We're going to have an empty bullpen next year
  24. 2-3 good moves would put them into contention it just doesn't look too likely that top free agents will want to sign here. Two big problems: 1. we don't have a great team so not a lot of demand to come here and 2. Taxes are f'ing high so Toronto would have to pay even more just to stay even with other teams. Same as last year.
  25. I guess with Ricky T and eventually Manoah as the 7th potentially and 8th. Anybody put together a 2025 pitching depth chart along with availability to pitch? I think getting an ace and a 6-7 may not be a bad thing. So effectively I think we need to spend on 4 things being a starting pitcher, LF, DH and some bullpen. PS I think you forgot Bassitt?
