My thoughts on the amount of FA being left unsigned is the number of teams in the league. Expanding increases your MLB player count by 50 players, half the remaining free agents in theory. It's been twenty two years since the last draft in 1997 and is probably due. Whether it's from thirty teams up to thirty two or thirty four I don't think particularly matters. Moar teams, universal DH 2020 lets go!
If you want stuff posted let me know, I'm not active on either here or there but my stuff doesn't seem to get deleted if this post is anything to go by.
The DRS difference between Galvis (1400 innings) and Diaz (800 innings) was 16 DRS for Galvis. They're about the same range wise. Diaz was a poor defensive SS but not the butcher that Gurriel was.
I wonder with Harpers options starting to narrow down if it's more and more likely he returns to Washington. I'd really love Toronto to sign him, 10 years 250M with opt outs after 4 & 7 years. Fills a need, fits our timeline.
I wonder how many fans would hate to trade Sanchez because he's been a successful starting pitcher once in his entire professional career. I'd be completely open to moving Stroman and Sanchez. I don't think you can even pencil Sanchez is an a starting pitcher going into 2019 with the recent injury issues.
I was going to say our hitting is likely something like Grichuk, Pillar, Diaz in fWAR and pitching Happ, Borucki and Stroman based on peripherals. Unsure of the ordering.
The more I see of Hernandez this season the more I don't want to see him on the Jays MLB roster next year. Replacement level DH with a league average bat (90 wRC+ after his hot start). I generally would say play him until someone bumps him but f*** I'd rather see DSJ getting everyday at bats to see if he might be anything.
I think with Sanchez it really depends on if he can throw the curve 25-30% of the time every game while not developing a blister. If he cannot shove him in the bullpen and call it a day.
I'd say it's worth posting on the Jays Reddit. You have some terrible, terrible idiots but have some really good posters who would likely enjoy the podcast.
I can't quote people but I think the 6 we're sending so far are Bo, Vlad, Biggio, Zach Jackson, Jackson McClelland and Shawn Morimando with the 7th spot likely going to Pearson if he's healthy.
What are everyone's thoughts on Hernandez for 2019? After his first hot week he's basically been a 90 wRC+ bat with horrendous D in the OF. I'm wondering if at best he's a platoon bat in LF with someone like McKinney or DSJ who you run while they're cheap and cut if they get expensive.
