  1. Goes without saying
  2. I'm off to Boston with my company at the end of the month, and the Sox are home to Seattle. I'm really hoping the King Felix is in line for a start when I'm there
  3. Atlanta is in the market for LH relief with only 1 lefty in the pen right now. Lots of options out there for them though
  4. I highl doubt it, but there's also the minor league portion of the rule 5 draft to worry about
  5. I believe so yes. Here's a tweet I sent him last year:
  6. Yessir, curve has been plus for a while but he slider is coming along nicely
  7. Expectations being high + underachieving ball club = much bigger feeling of failure
  8. Guys with guaranteed deals can still be optioned if they have options left.
  9. Knowing the Jays luck, this is the time they'd get aggressive, win the bidding war and have the guy blow out his shoulder in his first game.
  10. Think Happ is out of options after this year so he'd ave to up n some capacity or risk being picked off waivers
  11. I wish people would stop using Gomes aspect kind of benchmark or comparison. He had one decent stretch of 50 PA ths year, the rest as been garbage Nd over his last 17 games he has like a .400 OPS He's nothing to worry about having traded, especially with how Rogers has worked out so far. The shirty part of that trade was Aviles
  12. Probably not in that case. But if he's healthy and even pitches like an average starter in the second half, it's a no brainer for the QO.
  13. They also put out an honourable mention list, Lawrie's on the list for infielders who might or might not hit http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2013-trade-value-just-missed-the-cut/
  14. Says any rumours about the Jays involved in trade talks for any starter is a "complete fabrication" but that's not to say they wouldn't be open to the right deal if it came along the next week. Does see depth in the pen and would be open minded to trading a reliever. Expects starting pitching to be better after the break. On Romero, the start last night was the most encouraging since he was able to go eight innings and only throw 93 pitches, needs to see that over and over again first, it's a step in the right direction. Must put "many" of those starts in a row first before he would be back in the conversation. Thinks he is in a better frame of mind now. On Bickford, he was pretty evasive. Says it was not cut and dried, they did all their due diligence on whether or not they thought he wanted to go pro, can't divulge info, trying to protect everyone involved, it just didn't work out. Wouldn't be surprised to see him as a top pick again in a few years. Likened the situation to Beede and how that missed signing turned into Marcus Stroman, so the Jays didn't actually lose an asset. Also mentioned that Stroman is pitching well and has been talked about as a call up candidate. No thoughts on moving Jose Bautista to 3b even though he feels Jose would do it if asked.
  15. Only 77 pitches through 7 innings for Nolin, just dealing tonight
  16. Dang, almost took that one out of the stadium. Really hope Harper does that tonight
  17. I'm okay with having a guy like Buerhle as the #5 starter. He's overpriced for it but the real problem is the Jays don't have 4 other pitchers that have been consistently better than him.
  18. I think almost everybody realizes this already, but his part of it is smaller than guys just throwing like s***.
  19. Lol, pretty much exactly what I was thinking too.
  20. Sid sixeiro says that Alfonso Soriano would be a fit for the Jays. I have no idea where he would even come up with that, like the Jays don't have enough guys who can only hit HR, don't walk, strike out a ton and not get on base, let alone his contract for next year.
