  1. Someone should really track that kid down and put him in a straight jacket, locked away from all of humanity... Forever.
  2. I think you greatly underestimate very intelligent people and there ability to differentiate between someone busted for taking an OTC stimulant with a tiny fraction of something that probably made no difference whatsoever, and a guy on steroids. Just because MLB paints all banned substances with the same brush doesn't mean they are equal in reality.
  3. http://jaysjournal.com/2013/06/20/esmil-rogers-blue-jays-saving-grace/
  4. I might check in on a guy like Garza. Injury concerns sure but he's still a better option than Happ ... And Buerhle. His value is also low and wouldn't cost a top prospect
  5. Is it just me or was Edwin hobbling a bit down the line?
  6. #4 or #5 meaning a 4.5 ish era... Not pitching 4th or 5 th in the rotation. Right now he has better than ace numbers as a starter in 2013.
  7. THat's what I wa trying to do earlier in the year and they all turned out like thumbnails. I just gave up on it and went with the plan ole text.
  8. There's lots of things to go on. There's his own eyes from watching the pitcher's body language, actual results, how many pitches per AB, starting with strike 1, starting with strike 1 on different pitchers, staying out of patterns, talk to the catcher, talk to the MIF on how much balls are breaking, watching body language of the hitters after striking out or judging on how hard balls are being hit. Most of the time though when a manager is yelling about balls/strikes it's because he's hearing it from his own guys that the outside/inside corner is huge/tiny and watching the hitters react to each pitch.
  9. Recently I've seen very marginal improvements in JPA's efforts at framing. There's times that he still stabs at the balls not directly where his glove is and still moves way too much overall, but the effort is noticeable. I still hate his game calling though. Not so much pitch selection, but location. You can't throw to the same spot 5 times in a row, then again the next AB to a good hitter and expect him not to figure it out. I don't think he calls for the up and in fastball near enough, not like it has to happen 20 times a game or anything, but when guys are diving over the plate to get the that outside pitch that he just called for 7 times, stand the f***er up!
  10. THis is the one to keep, mods can close the other one, I used to be techno savvy, now I cant even submit a poll without posting a thread.... oy
  11. Just wondering what everyone thinks about Esmil, there's no doubting the results he's been getting as a starter so far, which really starts to make that trade of Gomes and Aviles start to appear sane. Has the addition of the sinker really made that much of a difference?
  12. Does the batter still get credited with the dinger in # 7? I would think not since the inning ended on a force out, I got that one wrong.
  13. Esmil Rogers is doing his best to try and make up for it. I get missing aviles but Gomes is nothing to be missed.
  14. I read this also. Very intriguing to know that two payers might have the same overall production/value, but see one that's very streaky and one that's steady and consistent, never too hot or too cold. I wonder if they'd be able to run numbers to see if the consistant wOBA is actually more valuable than the streaky wOBA, if both are equal
  15. This. I know the fact that JPA sucks at everything related to his position but that doesn't change what AJ will be. Neither of them walk, JPA has power that Jimenez doesn't, Jimenez has defense that JPA doesn't, Jimenez has a better hit tool, but still probably average hit tool at best in the majors
  16. If he pitches like a stud going into and continuing into the second half and the Jays are in the playoffs or even very close to them, AA will try everything to extend him first.
  17. Yeah I thought Davis not starting in Vancouver was odd too since he ended theirs last year and the jays usually have a guy finish a year where he would start the next year
  18. He and Surrey's Justin Atkinson (IF) are pretty much the only two guys on the roster worth following. Aside from Messiah Kalfus that is....
  19. I think Wagner stays. AA loves guys that throw hard
  20. That's where guys like Juan Perez, thad webber, Todd redmond and Mickey storey get dfa'd and whoever has options ges sent down until a deal is made
  21. It's amazing what happens when you have a hitting coach whose philosophy isn't "OBP sucks and pull everything"
  22. Most times guys who win this are guys who are coming off serious injuries, not sure Lind's would qualify as all that serious
  23. I'm still in aw that our pitching staff has a Dickey, Johnson and now a Wang. Any Cox or Wood out there we could pick up ?
