  1. Yesavage pitched 94 innings in college last year and is at 62 so far this season. I guess if you add on teh typical 30-ish innings teams usually increase workloads by per season hed be looking at a cap this season at around 120, so basically about halfway there already. I could definitely see a debut this season but i think it would be out of the pen, maybe getting 2-3 innings at time to cap off the innings limit after NH or Buffalo's season is over depending on where he is at the time. Injuries, of course, could change that.
  2. Anytime chief. Just mainly pointing out sometimes it doesn't matter who you put in, who the "long man" is, and who the leverage guys are when they all get their tits lit when they come in. Just like Tampa yesterday against Baltimore, it happens to every team every year, multiple times. You are aware of this i know.
  3. Grant has absolutely no friction burns today
  4. Not everyday you see 6 actual pitchers in a game for 1 team that all give up ERs.
  5. Dunno bout you guys but I bet Grant has 2 very raw palms right about now, and several friction burns
  6. Xrays negative on Vlad, was hit on the right forearm, just a contusion. Should be back very shortly if not next game
  7. Another reliever that could be targeted: David Bednar from Pittsburgh. One more arb season after this one before he hits FA for 2027. He's back to throwing smoke, K rate virtually identical to Little but walks half as many guys and still suppressing HRs. would be on the hook for about 2.5 million remaining at the deadline, give or take a bit.
  8. Definitely not. I think most just have a hard time giving credit to a manager for winning, but really easily find them to blame for losing, regardless of the moves they make. In the end, it's the players on the field that do 99% of it.
  9. Halvorson could definitely benefit from a good defense behind him given his GB tendencies, and the fact that he throws 100 mph avg heat.... that's kinda cool. Doubt he's available, but it is Colorado after all.... As for the odd man out if everyone is healthy... it would have to be someone with options... or Burr. If you assume Green gets turfed (not a guarantee of course...) all of the RPs have options with the exception of Hoffman, Yimi, Burr and Yariel. So your 8 guys in the pen would be Hoff, Yimi, Burr, Yariel, Little, Fluharty, Sandlin, Fischer right now. Schultz and Bruihl would be the odd men out. If Burr comes up and stinks, PUNT, and bring up Schultz again. If Fluharty keeps struggling, Bruihl steps in and Fluharty goes down. If Green isn't turfed... it would likely be Sandlin sent down. I think they're keeping Fischer up since he's shown so well. This becomes even more complicated when Manoah comes back since Lauer would likely lose his spot if Scherzer's thumb is still functioning. Lauer is out of options so he'd have to stay in the pen and become the defacto long man, forcing someone else down. Luckily, these things tend to work themselves out because... name one pitching group in MLB that's ever fully healthy?
  10. I'm more leaning towards a guy not on this list... George Springer. Yeah, his fWAR is taking a dump due to his defense, but his bat rebounding to where it's at has been sooooooo very needed on this team since Vlad continues to slap singles and Santander has been an injury train wreck thus far Also agree with Org that Little deserves more love, yes he's struggling with the walks recently, but he's still a swing/miss machine It's incredible right now the Jays catching tandem is 2nd in the majors at 4.4 fWAR. That would normally be way out in front except for Raleigh channelling his inner Barry Bonds so far (Raleigh 5.4 fwar, Garver 0.0 fWAR). 130 wRC+ paired with league leading defense for the Jays catchers.
  11. Yesavage shoved again ... 5 scoreless IP, 1 walk, 1 hit, 8 Ks. 14 whiffs on 37 swings
  12. The gap in pitching talent from AAA to the majors is probably the biggest its ever been. It's entirely possibly he's a AAAA player. Yes, too soon to make that determination, but its getting more likely by the day. He cant hit low offspeed pitches And cant handle velo... hard to stick into the majors with that profile.
  13. Can answer based on the title alone...of course they should be.
  14. Had plenty of chances to score more than 4 runs, this loss goes on the sticks I think.
  15. This is one of those calls where if either safe or out had been the call on the field, they wouldnt be able to overturn it. Which is the single biggest problem with the rule on challenges.
  16. To me it looks like he's at the point where if he is to continue his career it's either going to be on a bottom-dwelling team that just needs any warm body it can find... or a minor league deal. From the looks of his stuff, he's just not an MLB caliber pitcher at this point. He's the shade of a shade of his former self, which is sad.
  17. I'm pretty sure Scherzer is the long man at this point by default, and they're just hoping he can turn back into a SP, while he starts games. I know that might not make sense, but ... i think you understand what Im getting at.
  18. The bigger win would be his thumb not falling off after those 5 innings.
  19. f***ing Rays. Every year someone down there sells their soul for another year of getting max results out of a middling group
  20. 2-hit Whit has retired
