    It would be really nice for broadcasters to actually acknowledge hat while getting the runner to 3rd is nice it's not his the hitters only goal. It's literally the worst positive thing that could happen

    I didnt get that from the article at all, I felt he was saying that plenty of black poeple are good at math, but very few care about analytics. I also didn't get anything about analytics being used to push blacks out of the coaching or executives role. I felt he was calling out black people who play the " not enough blacks in these positions" card and was stating that if blacks don't covet or care about the same things that you need to get hired in these positions, it's their own fault.

    Can already see Travis superiority over any other MIF option on the roster. I truly dont understand why Zaun favours age over actual skill.

    Barney is what he is, an all-glove no-bat utility infielder that will likely have a decently long career as a backup bouncing around baseball. Every team could use a guy like Barney, as long as he's cheap and doesn't have to play full time. He's sure as hell not someone you give a starting job to just because of age and "veteran-ness", when you have obviously superior options avalable to you. His incredibly babip fueled batting average shouldn't be fooling anybody into thinking he's suddenly a full time player

    I think it raised some valid points. You always here about the directives in place when hiring executives and coaches now where you have to interview black candidates. If those black candidates aren't embracing even the most basic advanced stats, I think Wilbon is saying that's a huge reason why they aren't getting the jobs. Sure he weaves in and out of coherence in the article and the way he presents his sources is suspect, but what he's trying to get at is probably very real. And he's not presenting it in a way that blames the old white establishment either, he's really putting the responsibility on blacks for not changing with the times.

    I agree, I've been saying that consistently for weeks. Let the pen start innings before the starters leave a mess that needs peferction to get out of and you might see them get some confidence back. Part of it is their relievers too, just not enough swing and miss out there.

    That's true. It's also true that maybe he could try letting the pen start innings, instead of always having them come in with runners at 2nd and 3rd and none out?

    Not sure why Smoak ever thinks he's going to see a fastball.... ever That's was just a horrible AB. 1 pitch in the strike zone out of 6 and it was the only 1 he didn't swing at

    I bet he thinks it's a slap in the face to Goins to have him hitting belowTravis too.

    Just turned on the TV and heard what Zaun had to say about the Travis / Barney situation.... laughable would be kind to decribe his comments. But that's what you get from dinosaurs who think every player under 30 should be in AAA. Zaun will defend every veteran in that situation every time
