    I can believe that, the way their bullpens are situated it's a weird dynamic when balls are hit there with how the fences get narrower and narrower towards the corner

    He's just not what the new generation of fan would identify with. Every dog has his day, and his day is past. He's a legend of the business, but that doesn't mean that everyone has to like him. Personally, I fall asleep every time I watch a game that he does, but I still appreciate the talent, dedication and devotion to his craft that he obviously has.

    And he doesnt have to abandon it, just has to figure out a better mix. He has the skill and all the pitches he needs to be succesful

    Lol, I stacked the cinci/Houston game and then took 2 red sox. And only 3 runs have been scored between the two games so far. That's not gonna work

    Very true. But it's one if those scenarios where the player would have to be open to the idea, of which we obviously have little to no clue. He's not a butcher in the OF, but his range is very limited and just doesn't get to a lot of balls that even an average fielder would get to

    He's also basically useless in the OF, he's a 1b/DH waiting to happen.

    This is one of the reasons that most people don't fully understand certain defensive metrics and what they really represent. What they do not represent is the few misplays every players makes every year nor how many highlight real plays they make. WhIle they do take those plays into account, they cover every play a fielder makes, how difficult that play is (on a scale of how probable the play is going to be an out) and how many outs they make on those plays in relation to league average. Pillar has made his share of highlight reel plays and mental mistakes, but overall he is converting far more plays into outs on balls hit to his zone than league average. And right now he's doing it at an insane pace

    I'm half tempted to make the drive down to Spokane tomorrow for the game, it's the only time I would be able to see them this seaosn since their only other trip there is in the middle of July during the week. 7 hour drive through the Rockies doesng suck
