  1. Not a huge fan of the bunt there, but let's face it, with Straw hitting against RHP thats probably the only way both guys were getting into scoring position
  2. Its the new way to beat teams, just hit 1 guy every game with a pitch and hope he gets hurt so he cant play against you the next day.
  3. I'd trust him over the guy who just got DFA'd. Granted, he likely wouldn't have been on the roster, but, Dominguez is a pure stuff guy, and Walker is pretty good at working with those guys and dialing them in.
  4. 40 FV seems to the price for rentals this season, that's where he is at. His walk rate is up to 4.5 per 9 since the jump to AA. Dominguez only walked 1.4 per 9 at AA when he was 23. Not a very equal comparison Dominguez was already transitioning to a reliever but... just saying, we all have a tendency to over-value our own team's prospects. It's probably a fair-ish enough deal, even if we feel its an overpay
  5. Which they can afford to do given they have more revenue and less than half the players to pay it too, and usually between 3-5 players who actually matter.
  6. But you're not worried about JWB's walk rate as a starter in AA? On paper yeah it does seem like an overpay, but maybe you hadnt heard, Dominguez throws a splitter, he's already ahead of the other pen arms based on that alone.
  7. Is this that much different than those firms that give young players a bunch of up front money in return for a % of their lifetime earnings? I mean, its definitely different, but ...just seems both dumb and shady at the time
  8. He doesnt have to play like a 500 million dollar guy till next year. This year hes just has 30 million dollar schlubb expectations.
  9. Its hard to guage what theTwins want, especially now since the team is up for sale.
  10. Still so many fringe teams are undecided on whether to sell or not. Either other or their asking prices are ridiculous
  11. Seriously though, get your s*** together. LIke, running numerous MLB fan message boards is pretty easy in the grand scheme of things and not at all difficult and is pretty much done all with AI, demanding almost none of your time, so maybe in between smoking those Cuban cigars, doing lines of coke off the thighs of your "masseuse" and banging all those 10s on the daily, you could keep this place running a bit more smoothly. /sarcasm
  12. Watching Green pitch is like watching the Hindenburg explode in slow motion over and over again. At least hes being abused in blowouts and doubleheaders... he's cooked.
  13. Unfortunately, comparing salaries from the NBA to... virtually any other sport is an apples to oranges scenario. What do they have... 15 man rosters plus 3 more on 2 way deals maximum?
  14. I don't think its that black and white. I think there should be a cap/floor system but it shouldn't be as tight as the NHLs where you can just see with near certainty who's gonna leave and who might stay 2 years in advance
  15. His secret was reshaping his delivery to basically copy Halladay.
  16. Yep, and every team that was targeting him. Great news for Pittsburgh and Minnesota
  17. Wonder how Varsho's return is impacted by Buffalo's last 2 games being cancelled due to rain.
  18. Orange birds in a bit of a funk, they just took 2 of 3 from Colorado, but 2 series losses out of the AS break losing 2 of 3 to the Rays and then 3 of 4 against Cleveland. Not exactly rolling
  19. Mlb.com power rankings now have the Jays at #2 overall, behind the Cubs #1 Detroit dropped all the way to 8
  20. And if his range isnt great at SS, he'll have the same range issues at 2b. We see what he'll most likely look like at 30ish and onward with Clement. Theyre both the same types of hitters, though Bo has more power, and Clement has better D and speed.
  21. You do. The raises that Manoah amd Bo turned down were pre-arb, and just generally done to try to reward guys a bit for having a great year. Each raise would have even helped them when arb finally started since arb numbers are bases on your pre-arb salary. I understand the need to protest the crappy arb system though and I think in general it still needs re-working so the people playing the most games and giving the most production are the ones getting paid commesurately. Free agency is great for superstars, but the average players get boned
  22. Yup. It's gotta be DFA times soon as they land a reliever via trade
  23. ffs. He has the brain of a dead ferret. Please stop quoting him
  24. Yeah. Ignore list brother. Anyone so dumb to suggest Varsho be traded for middle relief is so far past stupid its not worth the effort
