    Without a doubt yes. This team is better poised to make an impact in this league for an extended period of time thanks to the difficult choices Atkins has had to make. The payroll is flexible as f*** after this season, impact talent is coming through the pipeline for the next 2-3 years minimum, the current team isnt the true dumpster fire that most every rebuilding team is while they are rebuilding, and whichever assets they choose to dump at this year's deadline will only help to kickstart 2020, the first year of what's looking like at least a 7 year competitive window. Anyone who can't see that, isn't looking at this with the right eyes.

    TO be fair, he is having the best PAs in the lineup right now by far. I think the slappy contact hitter is going to become en vogue again here shortly with the high fastball/curveball meta of pitching these days. Everything is a cycle and we'll probably start to to back to watching boring slap singles for a few years again. Not looking forward to it.

    It's not even done in a clever way. It's just proclaiming the outcome that the vast majority of prospects will have (failure) and somehow feel8ng that he's smart bbecause of it. Boy I bet pocket Aces will hold up against 7,2 off suit heads up the vast majority of the time and nobody else knows this! I r jenius

    Unions only have to fight for their members. MiLB players are not part of the players union. So, while its a wonderful narrative that the MLB players union has somehow failed the MILB players, it's pure fiction.

    I'd share your enthusiasm if Jansen won RoY, but that would also mean that Vlad is probably dead

    Very true. But that 10 WAR would be more than Pillar over that same frame. Pillar is a fine defensive player and barely competent enough with the bat to make him playable. A slight dip in his defense and he's a 4th OF at best
