  1. It’s hard for me to have any faith in Rivera when he sends so many that are obviously terrible
  2. I wonder if the windmill at 3rd was waving him to 3rd or not....
  3. Gotta love plate appearances that start with a “f*** yes!” ....but end with a “what in the actual f*** was that?”
  4. Whatever is in Vlads head needs to get fixed in a f***ing hurry. He’s watching meatballs that he should be crushing. And yes he has hit a HR in this park in the preseason. Nice rip oppo though, terrible base running decision....ah well.
  5. Managers don’t make roster decisions, GMs do. And if you have to send him down to the taxi squad to activate Chase Anderson, ya kinda have to do it. That’s probably why he’s gonna go at least 2 or 3 innings tonight and they saved Borucki a bit. They might need Borucki tomorrow, they will not need Wags
  6. As are Pittsburgh and Nashville. Imagine Pittsburgh getting #1... lol
  7. And yet, literally in black and white in the MLB rulebook, it says potential subs don’t have to be listed on the lineup card in order to enter the game. I don’t care what other leagues do, the ump got it wrong, plainly and simply. Defend it all you like, you’re wrong too.
  8. Worst part about it, literally 2 minutes earlier he was all about giving these pitchers short spurts and putting them in spots to succeed...ya know how they decide which spots are the ones they might succeed in? Numbers! f***ing clown...and yes, still better than Tabler
  9. This just in, Old Man Buck Martinez thinks numbers are bad... Anyone have that GIF of Grandpa Simpson yelling at clouds?
  10. Hope not, 3 year deal with club option for 2022. Should be gone in the upcoming offseason if there’s no plans to extend - which would frankly baffle me if there are those plans. Otherwise Charlie should know that he’s a lame duck in 2021.
  11. I’m not worked up. I just like rage to be directed rationally instead of piling on due to ignorance. Montoyo deserves to be removed from his job, but not because of a lineup card issue that isn’t a thing, and when people say things like “all coaches across Canada know you have to do this” that person is trying to make themselves out to be an expert in something they know nothing about to try and join the group on the hate train and be one of the cool kids. So really, my goal is not to defend Montoyo or whatever, but rather to expose ignorance and try to get people to think twice before they post something that makes them look stupid and uninformed. Think of it as a public service.
  12. Christ...be mad for the s*** ton of things he’s done wrong, but the lineup card faux pas isn’t a thing. If every coach in Canada thinks you need to have subs on the lineup card, THEYRE ALL WRONG (local league rules being a possible exception). Please read below and educate yourself so you can direct your rage for legitimate reasons. Pay close attention to the bold and italics 4.03 Exchange of Lineup Cards Unless the home Club shall have given previous notice that the game has been postponed or will be delayed in starting, the umpire, or umpires, shall enter the playing field five minutes before the hour set for the game to begin and proceed directly to home base where they shall be met by the managers of the opposing teams. In sequence: (a) First, the home manager, or his designee, shall give his batting order to the umpire-in-chief, in duplicate. ( Next, the visiting manager, or his designee, shall give his batting order to the umpire-in-chief, in duplicate. © As a courtesy, each lineup card presented to the umpire-in- chief should list the fielding positions to be played by each player in the batting order. If a designated hitter is to be used, the lineup card shall designate which hitter is to be the designated hitter. See Rule 5.11(a). As a courtesy, potential substitute players should also be listed, but the failure to list a potential substitute player shall not make such potential substitute player ineligible to enter the game
  13. Not so much defending Montoyo as pointing out rage at something nobody should be raging about. The fact he didn’t put him on the lineup card isn’t bad, not knowing that he didn’t have to and then lying down like a chump when the ump wouldn’t let him bring him in and not playing the game under protest as a result is the problem. Dude obviously doesn’t have the managerial chops to the the front line guy. He should stick to whatever position he was in the Rays org
  14. Gibby would have included him on the lineup card either way, but the fact remains he doesn’t have to be there in order to be eligible. Putting potential subs on the lineup card that you give to the ump is a courtesy, not required. Yes, he should have played the remainder of the game under protest, but probably didn’t know the rule any better than the ump did, or the opposing manager
  15. He’s not required to have potential substitutes on the lineup card. Fire yourself.
  16. Freeman can’t handle Romano’s cheese
  17. I don’t think he can appeal that after the game is over unless he has actually indicated he is playing under protest
  18. Three-batter minimum Official rule: The starting or any relief pitcher is required to pitch to a minimum of three batters, including the batter then at bat (or any substitute batter), until such batters are put out or reach base, or until the offensive team is put out, unless the substitute pitcher sustains injury or illness which, in the umpire crew chief’s judgment, incapacitates him from further play as a pitcher. To me, that says a pitcher must face either 3 hitters, or remain in the game at least until the end of the inning.
  19. If his recall wasn’t reported to MLB he wouldn’t be allowed to dress for the game. But even if that were the case, there’s no way the ump or opposing manager would know about a transaction not being reported.
  20. Must face 3 batters before getting taken out as far as I know....but I’ll take another look
  21. The only thing a manager is required to give the umpire is the starting lineup and batting order. No potential substitutes need to be listed. I get that just because the majority of us don’t know the rules, that we would decide something based on feelings, but that’s not how sports are played. It’s in the rule book that Waguespack is eligible to enter the game, the ump got it wrong. End of story That doesn’t excuse the lack of attention to detail on Montoyos part as I’m sure these guys truly believe that potential subs should be given, but the fact remains they are not. The second fact that the ump doesn’t know this rule is even more inexcusable than Montoyos oversight
  22. If I was Montoyo, I’d put Waguespack back out there since he’s absolutely eligible to enter the game
  23. Explain why they made the right decision, when it’s in black and white in the rule book that potential substitutes are not required to be listed on the lineup card. Technically, Montoyo could have played the remainder of this game under protest because of that umpires decision, which was against the rules. Though I’m guessing Montoyo doesn’t know that rule either lol
  24. So, the umps are dumb right? Even though not listing Waguespack on the lineup card is a brain cramp of tremendous proportion....it’s not necessary for him to be allowed in the game. So.....who looks more dumb here? Montoyo or the home plate ump who doesn’t know the rule to the sport he is paid to know the rules to?
  25. Jays should be sitting on the soft stuff at this point. His fastball command hasn’t been there
