  1. Pinch hit for Dickerson here? … the way this game is going I would seriously be considering it. Dickerson is a trash can against lefties and in CF, might be a good time to just get Grichuk in there, even though it’s really early
  2. Impressed with this umps strike zone tonight.
  3. Jesus Christ BuCk, shut the f*** up about “back in my day…” garbage. You did NOT face 95+ mph on a daily basis from multiple pitchers. You faced it a few times a month. Quit pretending like Nolan Ryan had Greg Maddux control with his 100 mph fastball, and quit pretending like every team had that guy. They didn’t. You sucked as a catcher, you sucked as a manager and you suck as a play by play guy.
  4. Gil is throwing like what we all want Pearson to throw like
  5. That slider was friggin' filthy though. Excellent tunneling and looked like a fastball right up until it wasn't.
  6. So, logically the next step of the convo is ... what does it take to keep Ray? 5/125?
  7. What's even more hypocritical is that they whine about the the Coors park factors, then never even mention the little league dimensions of Yankee stadium in the R and L field corners.
  8. Playoff odds have the Jays now at 37.2%. Last week at this time it was like 12%. Not a bad week.
  9. Lots to consider here as losing either of them would be a blow to the team. They’re both very similar situations…both are here on 1 year deals trying to build their value. Mission accomplished and then some. Sure Ray was getting 8 million versus 18 million for Semien, but the parallels are obvious. Which guy walking would leave the bigger hole? Can they afford both? Should they push for both or let one walk and try to replace that guy with other another option? And let’s settle one part of it now, obviously you want both to return but that can’t be the goal at all costs. There is a number for each of them that just wouldn’t make sense at all despite their amazing performances this season. Will the upcoming inevitable PA/MLB negotiations slow down any negotiations not knowing if there’s going to be a solid salary floor?
  10. Not this early, but it will very likely happen later.
  11. The even better news, now that Cole is out of the game, Dickerson might have a shot at connecting with a pitch.
  12. Well thats one way to get into the pen early.
  13. Jays just need to relax a bit. A bit too aggressive. El Capitan knows the deal.
  14. Why? You're better than this.
  15. There is absolutely zero justification for Dickerson hitting leadoff. Even ignoring the fact that he's likely the 8th or 9th best hitter in the lineup at the best of times... he has the biggest hole in his swing at the top of the zone against velocity. Always has had that hole in his swing. Always will. Cole lives at the top of the zone with premium velocity. Dickerson is 4 Swinging Ks waiting to happen unless Cole makes massive mistakes, which is not something you would plan on or think "well maybe if Cole pitches like crap this guy hitting leadoff will pan out... " Garbage managing from a garbage manager.
  16. It would be incredibly fun though, to watch all those old writer's heads explode if Vlad actually does win the triple crown, and then don't vote him as MVP. The entertainment it would cause would be tremendous.
  17. Always nice to see Chuckles take out his ace, who is dealing, only at 80 pitches, for a reliever to come in and start missing the zone with everything
  18. f*** Springer….gift the error right back to them
  19. Wow, yanks are an error factory today. Gotta get at least 1 here
  20. Springer doesn’t look good, every swing he’s bending and stretching something. Definitely not ideal
  21. Yeah, statistical anomalies are fun
